3.25M for a 3rd pair sub 6'0" Dman ..

We over paid x 4 yrs and added yet another 4/5 Dman.

Good signing until for 2 years, bad contract for 2 years.

I'm happy with it overall.

Good signing. Nice value, as 3.25 won't mean much in a couple of years. The term is 1 year too long, but it was probably needed to get him to sign.

I'm happy to have him at the Oil, but if we're relying him to be a top 4 guy, I think we're in trouble. #5/6, sure.

Good signing. Gives us a badly needed top 4 dman. Cap hit is good for a free agent. Term is long and the last year or two will likely be an overpay, but something has to give on a ufa signing. It's not like there's a great crop of UFA dmen out there, so good job MacT.

Now go build a new bottom 6.

Actually three Stanley Cup finalists. 2 with Boston, 1 with Calgary.

Exactly - Ference is not a top 4D.

Congrats guys!!!! You got one of the good ones. It was my hope he would retire a Bruin. You'll love him, and he will do your community proud.

Hey Mr. and Mrs Mods, could we please get a poll on how we feel about this trade? Would be a nice touch for all of our signings.

Thanks!

Exactly, a team with an extremely weak 1-2 pairing has now added 3 defenceman in the 5-7 range

Did we not learn from Belanger and Eager?

Ference equivalents will be available tomorrow for 1 year deals
He was at the bottom of Boston's lineup?

Worst CorsiOn of any of the Boston d-men, hence why they let him go...
Too bad they didn't know about Corsi before the playoffs and kept playing Ference ahead of most of those guys. But better late than never.

Term and cost were too high but simply he is the type of guy the team badly needs. Some nasty. I don't mind the signing at all.

All of a sudden we have a lot of d-men. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? :-) Nick Schultz on the way out, perhaps?

He's capable of playing on second pairing. Many others have said this too. Ill take their assessment over yours.

When did people actually stop watching hockey and made analysis solely based on Corsi??

By that measure Krug is a WAY better player then Chara, that just makes sense, right?
