7.5 was overly optimistic, but I thought if they front loaded the deal as much as possible Giroux would take a smaller number. But G was like, nope.

Well, in my defense, rumors were around there until the very last day of discussion.

That said, if we were allowed to go pre-lockout on this *****, his contract easily could've dipped to the 6.5m range.

would have love to have done that. if he is at 6.5 it will be hard to justify another contract that gets a higher aav .

I thought he would settle for 7.5 or 7.75, too.
