I didn't mean in terms of speed/style, I meant in terms of production. He was a healthy scratch a few times for the Hawks in the finals, not someone I'd want here to fill a key role in the bottom-6.

Hawks fans aren't so sad to see him go.

Briere deal looking good considering all that's gone down today

We don't hear every one that MB has inquired about. The french media has better connections with the francophone players so they get insight right away, except it's been known MB did kick tires on guys like Clowe etc.

I don't think he's done he's preached Size, Grit too much for him to be done. He openly said he doesn't enjoy going big during FA, I mean look at these contracts.... I think if there's a move its through a trade

GHG!!

have to re-sign Eller and all our D except Gorges after next season (incl. Subban), will need $ for that.

Beaulieu has the legal issues but he's still a stud. If we trade him, I hope it's for more than Talbot, whom for all his playoff heroics with Pittsburgh and his heart, is still just a grinder.

It's not just about today, most contracts are just brutal and ridiculous.

I'm not getting any younger and all I heard for the last 20 years is "we have a 5 year plan", "be patient", "we'll build the team through draft", etc. Je suis désapointu. I wasn't expecting much from today's UFA circus, but if I add everything I've been told by Habs brass for the last 2 decades, it kinda gets frustrating. I don't care about the mechanics of it all, the bottom line is 20+ years later I'm still waiting. That's a ****ing long time. Let's just hope something happens through trades, because our actual lineup isn't winning ****.

Leafs might have screwed themselves out of re-signing Kessel but next season at least is going to be a nightmare in head to head matches unless we get a few more guys who can throw down.

or up for that matter

In Montreal where there's smoke there's never fire. Talbot rumours must be completely false if they gained this much steam.

Clarkson number will be huge doubt, but as we've seen, it will have ZERO effect on what they do financially in the future.

I thought Pitt was in trouble after re-signing Letang, yet they could still sign Scuderi.

Not at all, we are middle of the pack, and will stay that way. We always do enough bad moves to never fully suck or be good. We just lose our chances at a top draft pick with our strategy though.

If that trade occurred I would never follow the Habs again. Trading a blue chip 20 year old D for a 3-4th line player past his prime would push me away for sure.

Let just sign Tokarski so we'd have a #1 goalie in Hamilton. At this point, let just hope we signs guys that will help our kids improve. Go Dogs go!

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher
Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Galchenyuk - Eller - Briere
Prust - Talbot - Hendricks

Might actually not be that bad. could use a rugged winger instead of GIonta, but alas...

I would have given him a chance. He needs a new team.

The Clowe and Clarkson contracts remind me of when the Bruins signed Martin Lapointe so many years ago.

Just a reminder guys, vote for Roy Munson's absolutely great GDT, we're down a few votes to a pretty mediocre opponent. http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1461153
