I really like PM Bouchard to NYI, by the way. He could fill the hole PA Parenteau left.

confirming #Leafs Clarkson 36.75M over 7 yrs on new deal.
$5.25 per.

Good, if this is the Cally precursor. Though, a little terrible for Clarkson, who isn't as good of a player.

If Clowe had one concussion I could see giving him 5 years if you could justify the cap space over the term. To me not only the $ were too high but the term is too long. Short term it may be okay but long term this deal has more than real potential to hurt them big time. I don't see him being much 5 years from now just as I don't see Brad Richards being much either.

Anyway we save ourselves a 2nd rounder.

Let's play the "guess who the Rangers sign" game:

Lapierre/Hendricks
Grabovski
Blum/Weber

Is anyone else bored, but happy that Glen hasn't been splashing around in this **** pool at all? This has been kind of refreshing.

Viper, one deal I do think is bad is Boyd Gordon's. He's a 4th liner making $3m.

I think what's happening here is Edmonton is desperate to fix their roster deficiencies. Defensive forwards and defensive defensemen.

Completely disagree.

Terrible contract but it is not gonna be fun facing Clowe 8 times a year. Ugly.

That's what he'll want. He'll get 5 yrs/$27.5 million and we'll pay him.

Wow, Clowe got 5 yrs? Lou's gone senile. I liked Clowe when he was here but he's damaged goods now. To play his style of game effectively he needs to be physical. Going to be hard to do that when he's so injury prone now.

I agree. There young players can't play any defense so they are trying to over compensate with whoever is available.

The real question is who will be available next summer when Sather has the room to drop another one of these bad boys on us
Re-sign Lundqvist
Re-sign Callahan
Re-sign Girardi

If Kreider has a breakout year,he is arbitration eligible and will cost a decent buck to pay.

Del Zotto will cost $4M plus to re-sign.

Would have given Clowe no more than 2 years at 2 mil

Feels good to be in the other teams shoes for once. Some of these contracts are absolute insanity.
