I know I was one calling for GMDP to spend some $$ but to spend just to spend was NOT what I had in mind! I like the Stalberg signing but the rest is WTF! (Unless we have a trade in the works for some of our young'uns)

Our PK ought to be stronger, too. We'll need that since we are sure to be taking more penalties.

All these signings become decent if we can add a top 3

The summer is young, everyone. Free agency just opened about three hours ago. Camp doesn't open until the middle of September. There is a lot of time to move things around, and there are some quality top line guys left to sign.

I think Ryder back to Boston, Iggy STL Roy Caps see if I heard it right.

Damien Brunner is still there, too. He would be a solid pick up.

I like what we have done, but I also like the roll lines theory. I also ike we will have limited youth up front with such a young d-corp.

Wilson-fisher-Forsberg
stalberg-legwand-hornquist
bourque-cullen-hendricks
Nystrom-gaustad-beck

extras-smith, clune, spallig

I expect another move r two, but being able to move 2 kids around the lineup I like. able to protect them from cheap shots too

How much cap space do we have now that we have spent:

3.5 on Cullen
3 on Stalberg
1.85 on Hendricks

8.35 off the books.

I usually get what Poile is doing but WTF is he thinking today? He does understand what a top 6 forward is right? Not a guy who could be one but a guy that actually produces as one. Wow. Some of these guys are great character guys but to spend this sort of cash on guys who have character is silly. These sorts of guys are easy to come by. Why are we not targeting other guys who can put the puck in the net? Ribiero's deal wasn't horrible. Grabs is still out there. Roy is out there. I'm perplexed.

No he is the best...

My brain hurts. You gotta think Smith Goose Borque and Spals are all getting dealt.

Hornqvist Legwand Wilson
Borque Fisher Stalberg
FF Cullen Nystrom
Clune Goose Hendricks

Jesus are we even going to score goals next year?

Let's see. Vokoun, Mason, Ellis and Lindback were all solid-to-great netminders while they were here.

This isn't just my opinion. Mitch Korn is widely respected around the league as a top goalie coach.

Oh yeah, and you may have heard of another one of his students. Hasek.

We are also adding pieces to create depth which makes assets expendable. Only so much can be done in free agency. Trades are still potentially there.

I do think that these signings indicate Spaling and Smith are going to be dealt.

Vokoun, Mason, and Ellis were all cast-offs and pupils of his that ended up being #1's elsewhere.

Yeah. We may not have filled our glaring, obvious need, but all four pieces (still waiting to see confirmation on Nystrom) definitely improve the team, and make us a hell of a lot harder to play against. Some solid speed, character, and grit, which will all be beneficial to a youthful team.

Dealing Smith will be a mistake. Just my opinion from watching the guy's skillset. He had a bad year and is being Trotzed.

If we can unload Goose, Spaling and Smith we have enough room to offer a good deal to Iggy or Jags.
