I've been one of the more vocal posters about Bickell getting that contract, but all along I've maintained he left millions on the table to stay.

Campbell was offered 8 per from Atlanta before he signed with us for 7 per. That doesn't make it a good contract

He left term as well

No doubt Bicks could have gotten a 6-7 year deal from someone judging by some of the deals today

That's all there is to it.

Bickell is overpaid for what he's shown.

But relative to what he would've gotten on the market, he absolutely came at a discount.

Trying to add offense/speed via FA market

Not good way to build a team

Damn ,, Ellis signs with Stars (Hawks if they want a solid #2 need to get one soon)

at these prices, Stan is definitely done for the summer. Looks like training wheels at #2C, #3C, backup goalie, PK, and no answer for PP. Enjoy cup now while we have it

Ellis would have been the right guy to go with until december and then call up Raanta

He has performed well enough as #2 in recent years

Anton Khudobin is the guy I want Hawks to sign for #2 job if Raanta isn't gonna be guy

Fine w/ Pirri 2C

Shaw at 3C, again

Smith can replace Fro at PK

Just fix the PP system, the guys are there.

Great job by Stanbo.

I guess he's solid if you think losing twice as much as you win and a GAA hovering around 3 the last 2 years.

The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a one-year contract with Daniel Alfredsson. Detroit got the deal done soon after NHL teams could sign free agents on Friday afternoon. The 40-year-old Alfredsson scored 426 goals and had 1,108 points with the Ottawa Senators, who failed to keep their captain for at least another season. He won the Mark Messier Leadership Award after scoring 10 goals and making 16 assists during the 47-game shortened season. He won the Calder Trophy as the league's rookie of the year in 1996.

GAA and wins are a team dependent stats

Sv Pct is more important when viewing the play of a goalie

I have no doubt that Hutton is not gonna be his #2

They have Magnus Hellberg in AHL ready for NHL

Bickell likely gets 5 years/5.25 if he had gone to the open market judging by the contracts today.

I guess Nashville liked CARTER HUTTON because he did well for Rockford versus Milwaukee.
