Knew Filp would get something like that. In a normal market he's in the 3.5-4.5 range

His point is you need balance. Chicago didn't need to fight or block shots, they didn't have any "toughness" to them apart from maybe 2 or 3 bottom line guys. Didn't stop them from winning, you need guys who can play the game.

Otherwise just trade Nash, step, etc for a couple goons and the rangers would be unstoppable.

Yeah the Rangers have no shortage of guys who play physical hockey. Callahan, Girardi, Staal, Dorsett, Boyle, Asham, etc. On par with the number of tough guys on most teams.

Prust is a very good example of a very good player who leads, sets great standards/examples, contributes on every level....when he's healthy.

Could have been a mistake there.

I guess tweener 2nd/3rd line players are worth $5+ million now a days.

They'll have gotten aging star center in Vinny, aging third-liner in Gags, aging D in Streit ... and Emery again.

Yep. Torts line shuffling caused all sorts of problems by the end.

Leave him be. This is the best FA day the Rangers have had this century.

5M is too much for Filppula. This market is just, disgusting.

Sather's best moves today have been not making any. Clowe. Clarkson. Filppula. Horton. Holy **** these guys are getting paid like whoa.

The bolded items happened because the Hawks had the puck in their possession the vast majority of the time.

Let me know when the Rangers have the type of skill the Hawks have.

The Bruins had the most. We can do this all day....

The Bruins also had a much better team outside of toughness. Much more skilled.

The problem with this Rangers team is skill, not toughness.
