No one thinks he's close from being what he used to be, but he can still be effective at the right price as a 3rd line winger.

They add. Beaulieu according to a lot of reports needs to improve his hockey sense. He is a puck moving defenseman though. He is young and could help our team out with the cap savings. I just wouldn't be happy with a one for one sway. Also there is rumors that they want Talbot too.

There's a Quebec report the #Canadiens and #Flyers are working on a multi player trade involving Talbot and Coburn

I like Talbot, but if this Beaulieu is as good (or potentially as good, I guess) as some are saying, I'd do Coburn and Talbot for him and maybe some kind of 4th liner they have to replace Talbot (or maybe we just use McGinn in that role?).

(98.5 - Sports) - The Montreal Canadiens now trying to get hold of the attacker Maxime Talbot of the Philadelphia Flyers. Several players could be involved in this exchange with the Philadelphia team, the defender Braydon Coburn.

The Flyers are obliged to reduce their wage bill and the Canadian is strongly interested in Talbot, recognized for its passion Quebecers and desire to win.

Talbot scored 152 points in 504 NHL games. He also won the Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh. He is under contract for another three years, it affects an average of $ 1.75 million per season.

Maybe they add Emelin as a cheap stay-at-home D solution to play alongside Sreit?

No way they'd add him, IMO. Plus, he's out until December, so I don't think he can be traded.

Hefty price, but a mandatory move by Murray. He just lost his best winger to the Wings.

The Flyers' off-season looks so far like it's had a mix of very solid with OK cap spending & deals, like Holmgren took advantage of the buyout period like how the Flyers would do pre-cap with their financial muscle. This combined with a patience for keeping young players is weird. Seems like Holmgren has been doing yoga or something to relax himself.

These slotted line positions seem like most players are set up to succeed rather than fail, but they could use one more 3rd line winger and gotta stay healthy or else you're relying on Talbot and Rinaldo to put up 0.55 points a game which in this new brutal division doesn't seem as likely.

I see 91 points, tied for 6th in conference, as of the moves up to now, with faith in 3LW.

edit: wow Ryan

Beaulieu is still unproven and his legal antics might cause some issues, I guess. I think Mtl adds to Beaulieu if they want both Coburn and Talbot.

Oh, he's hurt. Didn't know.

Moreover, is he that valuable?

Damn, I really hope we still get Ryan when that contract is up, he's been one of my fave non-Flyers since he joined the league.

In terms of assets, that deal is way below what Anaheim fans were expecting in return for Bobby Ryan. Remember Couturier + 1st, or both Schenns? That package is similar to Read, Laughton, and a first.
