You'd think Koivu would be on the centres list.

The TSN Analysts are biased against MTL. They said MTL wudn't make the playoffs in like 12th place with TO in 11th. COME ON!!!!

How about the wingers list - Chris Higgins at #22 ahead of guys like Heatley, Naslund, Gagne, Hejduk, etc...

Not to shabby and imo he could be a bit higher on that list.

Missing the playoffs is one thing... but 12th? and the Leafs ahead of us?

and one can't say well "injuries etc." because you can't predict those.

what i don't understand why is that a handful of you guys get riled up when our team/players are ranked low on some ******** poll or rank system...who cares what other people think, or where they think we're gonna end up, either last in the east or sneak into the 8th spot. WHO CARES. Just follow your team like a respectful fan and stop getting caught up in all the mumbo jumbo. sheesh

Scott Cullen is actually a habs fan, but it doesn't matter, those player rankings are a formula.

Do you guys realize that these are fantasy rankings?

It really shouldn't be any surprise that Souray is #1.

When you predict where a team finishes at the end of a season you have to think about the past. In the past Koivu has had various injuries and you'd have to assume that he won't end the season with 82 games played...Now if you say that and that you assume that Gainey doesn't go out and get a center, then you can see that 12 is a possibility... I think we'll finish 6-8th though.

And Markov is ranked 19th according to TSN. So, our Habs ave 2 of the leagues top 20 D men. I don't want to hear anymoe complaining about our Dmen. Everyone should appreciate the talent we have on D and not take it for granted all the time. You know how many teams would love to have Markov and Souray as their top 2 dmen ?

None... The TSN thing is only for Fantasy pools...do you think Souray is really the leagues number 1 dman?

I understand that it's only a fantasy pool rating, but it's based on how the players are playing right now. And Souray is playing great, right now. Make no mistake Shabutie.

The only number I'd be concerned with as a downfall is he's minus 4. I'm sure that'll pick up.

Yeah, you're right, no teams want Souray or Markov. They're two bums who wouldn't make it on a pond hockey beer squad.

Souray is playing great on the PP, but everywhere else he's been lackluster.

Oh and I never said that no teams would want Souray Or Markov, just that no team would want them as their Number 1 and Number 2 defenceman...especially since they both play the same side....

These rankings are just based on statistics, and right now Souray has a lot of points for a defenceman. I'm baffled if anyone actually thinks he is one of the top defensemen in the league, because his defensive game is below average... there's no denying it.

If Souray was actually solid in his own end he'd be a $5 million player... but he isn't.

Souray smells the moulah! Can't say I'd do any differently myself. The good thing is that we know Souray's strong and weak sides and given the right deal, we could get a more than favorable return for him at the deadline if it seems that we won't be able to resign him. Love the offence, hate the defence...5 million no way... 3 mil all the way.

Holy crap....he's 7 points ahead of #2. Amazing if you consider #20 is within 7 points of #2.

I agree if we were somehow able to get him to sign for 3 million that would be awesome. I assume he will probably sign in the 4 - 5 million range though.
