Fire poile. I'm all for it.
I've defended and defended but screw it, it's like he is trying to screw the franchise over before he gets fired with these horrible deals wasting money on garbage players.

Fire him now

I'm not asking for a firing, but Stalberg, ok fine. Cullen? A bit much but ok. After that the wheels fell off. Hendricks at $1.8. Nystrom at $2.5?

On a cash strapped team that already has a full roster of inconsistent scorers?

$119 million spent by the western conference today - $36.2 million by Nashville (30.4%)

And not a single guy really helps us all that much except maybe stalberg and MAYBE Cullen.

If whatever is happening today works out in our favor, I'll never doubt Poile again. If it doesn't, well......

I'm not saying fire him but I will say it's getting harder and harder to defend him.

We needed 2 top 6 forwards or at least one and we sign 4 bottom 6 forwards? I like the Stalberg signing butaside from that i have no clue what poile is seeing.

For years people here clamored for Poile to do more ... when he does, the fire him threads pop up instantly. Of the five contracts today, I love one, see the low risk with a backup goalie, think two are overpayments but tolerable, and have no clue why we inked Nystrom. Not worthy of firing anyone, but definitely puzzling until we see what does (or doesn't) transpire before opening day.

Everyone needs to calm the hell down I know things don't look so great but this team has won with a lot less. we may not have the explosive offense everyone likes to watch but we have an amazing defense that Poole has built up and every one seems to keep forgetting that. We are a score by committee team and today we built that up greatly.

What good would firing Poile right now do? How does that help anything?

This is me. I'm a pretty big Poile supporter but.... You have to conclude that Hendricks and Nystrom are an upgrade in talent over something and, if it costs more than the prior talent, that the increased salary is worth it.

Who is Hendricks replacing? Halischuk?

Who is Nystrom replacing? Yip?

Where's the value? $4.3M vs. what, $1.3M or so. Are we $3M better than yesterday because of these two signings? I'd say about 300k better is more like it.

Guys, its all about perspective relative to the team. Clearly our forwards are so bad that these signings will compose our first and second lines. Poile is doing what he said he'd do. Bring in top end talent.

No, I never get tired of being the guy who can think when all about me are losing their heads.

Nystrom is the one total head scratcher. Stalberg at $3 mil per is a deal. Cullen is a bit high per year but a solid player who can improve the PP. Hendricks got paid too much, but is a solid bottom six guy. The backup owned the Ads over the past two seasons. Now Poile has to move a couple pieces to make room. We're not six hours into free agency ... RELAX!

And we haven't addressed that we were the lowest scoring team in the league last year. And that was with Erat and Kostitsyn.

The thing for me is that I don't feel like our bottom players were the main issue last year. I'll stand by what I think the team has needed for years: A game changer up front. We've tried the even scoring approach before. It hasn't worked.

I don't feel like a small market team like us should be spending that kind of money on bottom line players when the real team need is to address our scoring. Stalberg is a nice 3rd line, maybe 2nd line player. He's a good signing, but isn't the answer here.

Obviously the season isn't starting tomorrow, but you just have to wonder what is going on. Hendricks and Nystrom make 0 sense.

Except when the team had the top PP and was 8th in overall scoring. Injuries had a lot to do with last year's scoring woes.
