Parros will give us 3-4 boring staged fights this year, and not much else.

You might not think this deal is necessarily "great", but to whine and cry that this sets us back... holy crap people can be idiots...

Nobody had any problem going for Savard, Bergeron and Horton's heads with Chara and Lucic on the ice, not to mention plenty of tough guys on the bench.

Really, the guy someone like Parros is protecting..is Prust and any other fighters on this team. Because Prust can actually be useful on the ice, while Parros is a stage fighter.

Players will never stop cheapshotting you no matter how many tough guys you have. But when you start making it less fun and a little more painful to pick on our smaller guys, instinct makes others do it less. Right now, running over the Habs is fun for other teams. In the game where Pacioretty got injured, I think Lucic and Horton went around looking for scraps near the end of the game with smiles on their faces. We haven't changed too much by adding Parros, but its a start.
But more than anything, Parros is going to eat fists so Prust won't have to.

I don't mind the deal, but I wonder if Pierre Gauthier is sitting back and saying "Really, I was fired for this guy?"

You see, the difference is Parros is a liability on the ice in every other way, meaning if we have Parros there looking for revenge, we are shooting ourselves in the foot if we actually want to win the game, while someone like Lucic is a top 6 forward anyway. That's why someone wants to overpay for someone like Stewart.

No. If that's what you expect, prepare to be disappointed. Parros is a team player who will stand up to Thornton.

I am very happy with this trade. George is a good guy and will help the team in his role. So now all our little guys with speed can win us games and make all of us happy.....At least I hope that does make all of us happy ;-)

Mac needs to develop quickly. He's our answer to Lucic.

At the end of the day, nothing is lost. I'd rather have Parros as a 13th forward rather than Armstrong or Nokelainen.

I still think Bergevin has one or two more-or-less major moves up in his sleeve. Hopefully, something to beef up that Top 6.

According to Florida fans, George was useless last year and hardly fought. But.. he has character!

In all seriousness, this came dirt cheap and will help both physically and psychologically.

I'm starting to see the same pattern as others have on Habs message boards. When our team gets beat up we need to get tougher. When we get tougher posters complain we don't need to get tougher. It seems to just be no win all the time around here.

I couldn't agree with you more! Perfect description of what Parros will bring and we needed that.

It's not awful, we gave nothing for him, but if people thought Laraque was useless, jut wait for Parros.

I don't understand why people are so mad.

Cost us about virtually nothing, a crappy prospect...

Bring us a type of player we didn't have, and salary wise will not hurt us at the trade deadline.

Stop whining. End of thread

Unlike Laraque, Parros actually has a mean streak.

Why wouldn't Florida just settle for Montreal's 7th? Was Dale Tallon trying to show off his kick-ass negotiation skills by snaking Phillippe Lefebvre? This guys was average in the ECHL.

Honnestly, why would a team even bother with this guy?

Maybe something about the numbers of contract in the org. The Habs wanted to get rid of one contract
