So our bottom six looks like this to start the year:

Boyle-Moore-Pouliot
Pyatt-Lindberg-Haley/Asham

We should get some production from that 3rd line, once Hags and Callahan come back 2 of these guys get pushed to 4th line that is depth we needed.

Pouliot is only 26 and played for Riseborough. So why cant he stick anywhere?

Do they not HAVE to make a deal soon?

I know everyone says Asham and Powe are gone but they are still on the team with one way deals. If Brashear can get dealt I imagine these guys can too though. Would have to take guys that are a waste of a contract back likely though

Why did we sign this guy? Don't we have enough bottom 6?

Ooooooooo, I like this one. Definitely stick him right on the 3rd line. Nice size, can pot some goals...

Do you think AV is satisfied with his Top 6?

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Kreider - Brassard - Zuccarello
Pouliot - Richards - Callahan
Boyle - Moore - Dorsett
Pyatt

Those are 4 lines that can really play. Lindberg, Kristo, Fast, and Miller get more time with the Pack to hone their game.

This mentality needs to end. I know we love the blue collar mentality of earning your time, I get that, but it needs to be eased up on.

When you are building a team for success you put people in the spots they have the best chance to succeed in. Kreider (though I understand needed to work on his game) was not put in a lot of spots to succeed. He was glued to the bench when he blinked wrong. He got put on the 1st line in the Bruins series and played exceptionally well.

Let AV do the coaching though.

Is that your only insight to him, or have you actually seen him play?

Very good depth signing for a team that's bottom sixth was atrocious last year.

Lightning didn't qualify him because his QO called for him to get a raise on a $1.8m salary. He was also arbitration eligible. If they had qualified him, he could've filed for arbitration. The arbitrator could've awarded him his QO or even given him more than that. The number wouldn't have been over $3.5m, so the team wouldn't have been able to walk away. Based on what other players with similar stats to him have gotten, it's not hard to imagine an arbitrator giving him over $2m.

The decision not to qualify Pouliot was a business decision, not a personnel one.

Yes, I have seen him play. Good hands when given lots of space, but soft and inconsistent.

But hey, given that Brian Boyle was on our third line last year, this is a good signing.

Seems like a pretty decent 3rd liner. Good size, decent production. Good signing given what the needs are. Not sure why people b & m, but it's a message board I guess.

VERY nice signing!

He was very good in the short season last year 20 points in 34 games, If he could give us 50 points that is a great pickup.

Over a full 82 game schedule that is about 20 Goals, 30 Assists.

We are upgrading the bottom 6, EXACTLY what we needed to do.

Low risk, HIGH reward.

Here's something we should all remember.

He was a 4th overall draft pick, and that comes with a bunch of expectations. He hasn't lived up to his draft status and, at this point, it's unlikely that he ever will. He's a serviceable 3rd liner.

The guy is somewhat inconsistent, offensively. Then again, if he wasn't, he wouldn't be a 3rd liner. As long as we aren't expecting him to live up to the billing of a 4th overall pick, we should be happy with his play.

Hey some skill in the bottom six, nice! I'm sure many will be upset that he won't be taking punches to the face.
