If you ask me, I think Ryder's disappearing act at the end of the year (whether his own fault or Therrien's) turned a lot of GMs off from offering him that "monster contract" it was predicted he'd get.

Yeah that Ryder contract is a head scratcher.. I guess MB is confident that Briere will be better than Ryder..
Good deal for NJ though.

Pouliot to the Rangers is interesting. I'm hoping he lights it up (just not against us)

A smashed face is a smashed face...way different from a torn achilles...you don't skate with your face. I'll take a knee surgery over a back or achilles surgery too.

With the dealing of Silfverberg and Seguin...none of our other main rivals have young players as talented as Galchenyuk and Gallagher either IMO..they will only be better next season too. That should be taken into account as well. Depending on how Eller bounces back you may want to include him as well.

No way in hell is Briere worth less than Ryder. Except in Bergevin's mind.

Iggy replaces Horton. Sure on the decline though..wasn't impressed with him in the playoffs.

Send a message via MSN to WeThreeKings
They had a need with Horton gone and they filled it.

That's what good GMs do.

They replaced Seguin and Horton with Erikson and Iginla. Boston is good at this.

Who's to say Karlsson will be much better than he was in the playoffs? Chipchura was never the same after his achilles injury. Back surgeries come with no guarantees either.
Back surgeries come with guarantees alright, but make damn sure it's written on paper and worth more than the paper it's written on. I know they told me 6 months - - - - - 4yrs. later no change and never listen to verbal crap from doctors just IMHO.

By the way the Habs do look better than the rest, Detroit pulled good though.

While Iginla is a nice get, he's regressed every year and really slowed down in the playoffs. Not concerned.
