They probably have to add a sweetener if they want to trade Volch. Sal and Tally might be moveable for nothing.

By the way, the Setoguchi trade happening right after makes me think the Devils were looking into Setoguchi as a fall-back if Ryder went to the Bruins or perhaps the Jets were trying to bid for Ryder as well.

Yeah Moore is a good player who went through a really tough year, as much as i dislike the Rangers i wish him nothing but the best. Hopefully he'll have a successful stint with them and be able to get a nice contract in the next off-season.

I'm ecstatic to hear we're trying to make a trade or two, i think Lou realizes the redundancy of having both Volchenkov and Salvador back there, hopefully we'll get lucky and someone will do us a favor and take them off our hands.

I also love that trade for Winnipeg, they're quietly assembling a very young and skilled team; for a second round pick Setoguchi is an absolute steal, although he does have a tendency to be very streaky and disappear for lengthy stretches.

Would anyone be upset if we ended up moving Sal, Volch AND Tallinder. I think that's got like a 0.1% chance of happening but just curious.

I'd like to keep Tallinder out of those 3, he's the one who has the better skill set ... Just has to be consistent

I don't think that is necessarily true. Look at Bergeron and Crosby. I know Lou would not have given out such a contract if his concussions were as bad as they have been made out to be on this forum. I bet Lou saw something to indicate that the 50-60 pt scoring, gritty top 6 Clowe was still there and a injury ridden year has not changed that. I could see this being the Zubrus signing 2.0 but better since instead of replacing a 2007 Gomez with a lesser player this is an upgrade.

I think that's a big risk.

Then you've got Greene, Fayne, a still immature Larsson and a bunch of rookies.

I want to keep Tallinder, but Salvador and Volchenkov can both go and i'd be over the moon if we pulled that off. One of them definitely needs to be gone.

Iginla is a Bruin, interesting to see what the terms of that deal are, could work out nicely for them though.

Maybe, but the same reasons you would like to keep him are the ones that make him the easiest to move.

Iginla is a Bruin is great irony. Their fans will have whiplash falling over themselves to cheer for him after booing him just a month ago.

I could live with Sal and Volch gone. Sign Zid back and use Urbom

Greene-Larsson
Fayne-Zidlicky
Tallinder-Urbom
