Im confident that MB is finished in the UFA market unless its a spare part signing. By his comments in his presser, it looks like we wont get much via trade route either. As much as i hate to say it, i feel that we will be starting the year with plekanec, desharnais, gionta, gallagher, and briere in our top 9. With Diaz and Boullion on our defense.
Not confident in our lineup if that's the case. There is still a lot of time to improve, but i think its going to be a long year.
6M/1 year for Iginla is a much, much better deal than the Briere one.
But Iginla only wanted to go to a contender.
Should be an interesting fight between Boston, Detroit and Ottawa for the NE division next season. At least we will get a front row seat.
After the season Montreal just had, they really shouldn't be afraid to be in the mix with those 3 teams.
Its actually kind of amazing how anti-homer this board is. Most fanbases would be hyperventilating about their team if they finished top 5 in the league. This one is convinced the other shoe is going to drop.
There are still some gritty forwards available and I'd like to see us add a dman to replace Emelin (injured). I understand we don't have a whole lot of cap space but here goes anyhow (ship Desharnais out already...)
FORWARDS: Jaromir Jagr, Steve Begin, Tim Brent, Ryan Jones, Jack Skille, Dustin Penner, Simon Gagne, Brenden Morrow, Nik Antropov
DEFENSEMEN: Mark Fistric, Douglas Murray, Ron Hainsey
I'd like us to get at least one of those forwards, as for the Ds I'm not sure those are upgrades on Diaz, Tinordi or Bouillon, unfortunately.
Man, I'm really hoping Bergevin works some kind of magic through trades. I got a bad feeling he'll come short. It's going to suck having all these centers, some of whom can't play on the wing. Plus, the lack of size... :/
