He'll cost us more on the ice than armstrong, but a hell of a lot more entertainment value. And maybe we'll be sure not to play our 4th line as much this year.
Actually that alone might make us a better team...
Well, I think it means more that Therrien has 12 forwards to play in any given game. Usually it's in set trios, or set combinations on special teams, but at ES you can doubleshift a top winger and have Parros skip a turn. It's not like Parros has to play every shift that the two other 4th line players play, especially if they're decent.
Anyway, I can hardly find a reason to complain. He cost nothing in terms of assets or even contracts under the 50 rule (1 in, 1 out, unless Lefebvre was on an AHL contract? ). He'll probably fight about 12-20 times next year, which should keep some of the other teams' meatheads busy for 5 minutes at a time, which is 5 minutes that they won't won't be harassing the Habs' other players.
It is a bit of a stark contrast though, from Briere to Parros. Rounding out the team with extremes.
Maybe we should just go all out for guys like Parros, Briere, and other cheap signings people think are washed up. It could be like that movie Major League. Maybe the only thing keeping Blunden from being a fifty goal scorer is a pair of eye glasses.
Ottawa : Marcarthur + Ryan (50goals a year)
Toronto : Clarksson (20 goals a year + 175 hits)
Detroit : Weiss + Alfredsson (120 pts a year)
Boston : Eriksson (35 goals a year) + (iginla, ryder?)
Montreal : Parros (minus 20 and 10 fights a year).
Yeah. Theres something to be proud of here.
LOL good one...
He is 33 and cant even skate....What bugs me is Briere at 4 mill per year...I thought it was going to get better with bergevin....
oh boy...we really have a small team....to bad ... our players wont make it through the season and by the time the playoffs come around we will be to banged up and...OUT in 1st
