Wild fans should check the Pittsburgh board for ways to explain that he has cleaned up his game. Biggest dirtbag in the game...not if he guaranteed us a ring.

Oilers should have been in on this. If they were and Cooke just didn't want to play for the Oil...bummer. I think he is a very useful player.

As dirty and classless as they come. The guy should have a lifetime ban from the league for "player safety".

My reaction as an Isles fan

Glad he's finally out of the Atlantic and the East. Feel safer for JT now.

It'll be interesting to see if Cooke continues to play like he did the past couple years with the Pens. He was a changed man but he was also down to his last strike with the Pens organization and had to really watch himself. I wonder if he'll revert back to his old ways now. I know he had a freak thing happen with Karlsson but he really wasn't throwing flying elbows or anything like he did to Savard and McDonagh etc. the past two years.

Good signing by the Wild if Cooke can keep his act somewhat together. Very effective 3rd liner and PK guy.

He's a good, effective player and that's a nice cap hit. Haters gonna hate.

No one wants to admit the would want this guy. But he is a hell of a player. I wish he wasnt dirty but everything else he does is gold and for that cap hit is incredible.

GMCF shed a lot of offense, I'll be disappointed if he does nothing to address the defense other than adding Ballard. I don't think a Ballard-Dumba pairing will work all that well TBH.

Good signing by Fletcher. 2.5 for a guy that is effective on the PK, great on the 3rd line, and can occasionally play in the top-6.

Time to stop thinking a freak accident was intentional.

I'm expecting 5 goals two suspensions and me having no respect for this team.

Cooke is garbage. Can't stand him. At all.

Thin defense but hey we have the most expensive fourth line in the league.

Going to be sweet to see him get a season long suspension sometime during this deal. He doesn't have Super Mario protecting him anymore. Eff Matt Cooke

Has cleaned up his game over the last two seasons. There's plenty of players in the league dirtier than Cooke. In fact, his games has kinda changed to the point where those of us who watched the Pens noticed that he doesn't go for the hit nearly as much as he did pre-2011. That said, he still does take quite a few penalties based on past reputation, which at times he may not have even been guilty of.

Still an excellent PKer who doesn't take a shift off and will get you about 10-15 goals and 15-20 assists.

maybe all of the Matt Cooke haters will now tirelessly hate another team for once. i doubt it, though.

i think he'll be appreciated in Minnesota since he hasn't done anything ban-worthy in two seasons and he is a great PK specialist. he can also score some points.

Dang, and I really liked Minnesota...

Can't tolerate him. He is a cancer to the league, not just his teams. He is the poster child for everything wrong in the game. His Masterton nomination is not only a slap in the face to the rest of the league's nominees, but a slap in the face to Bill Masterton himself.

He's managed to not have a suspension for 2 years, why would he start that again? Yeo knows him so that shouldn't be a problem. He's going to play on the 3rd line along with one of the rookies I imagine.
