Poile said in presser that roster holes have been filled and things are set. I wouldn't expect mech more.

He said that they replaced Erat (Stalberg & Cullen) and got backs to Preds kind of players (Nystrom & Hendricks)

We have too many players. If you assume FF makes the lineup then we currently have 16 rostr forwards

Actually they did. Something to the tune of charging an entertainment tax when teams come to Nashville. Also mentioned getting the swag back. You mad bro?

I do see Gaustad, Spaling and Smith as the odd men out eventually. Depends on how healthy Wilson and Gaustad are and how ready Forsberg is.

Smith needs to have a good training camp.

Gaustad - love the guy, hate the contract. He has a role and spot on this team unless we need to shed salary to add a key piece. It doesn't sound like we are inclined to do that so .... I guess who cares :/.

I could see Gaustad moved somewhere for a pick. He overlaps with Cullen way too much.

Craig Smith rents, right?

other than winning a faceoff, Cullen and gaustad shouldn't be mentioned together for having anything in common.

Hahaha, indeed. Hendricks, though, a 56% faceoff guy last year, probably does make Gaustad redundant, and at $1.5M less per year. Be interested to see what Poile does here.

I think Gaustad stays. Poile overpaid for him for a reason, and I believe Poile will keep him.

Smiths contract is going to be hard to unload... it would have been a bargain if he had continued to improve.. but now he's in that paradoxical situation, specifically we probably cant trade him until he shows he can play better, but if he plays better, we wouldnt want to trade him

Maybe Legwand is on the block? Last year of his contract and we just signed 2 centermen. One of which is pretty much an exact clone of him. Plus all the talk of moving Wilson to center. Could be like the Arnott situation where we aren't going to re-sign him so they mutually agree to waive the NTC and let him have a shot somewhere else before hitting free agency.

I know they love Spaling, but id like to see him moved for a low pick. Smith may start in the A. Clune will be the extra.

I do think they might send Smith to Milwaukee and not be terribly upset if someone claims him on waivers. However he is on a one way deal for 2 mil x 2 more years and I dont see us paying him that kind of money to sit in Milwaukee very long.

I really wouldn't mind seeing Fish or Legwand go. Spaling too if the return was decent.

Fish and Leggy have NTC's and depth at center was the apparent goal of signing Cullen. I dont see them moving anywhere

Spaling looks to be odd man out.

When you consider that what really killed the Preds last season was depth, these signings don't look bad at all.

A good team doesn't react to what happened before they anticipate what will happen next. We are currently reacting as we have every year to what we needed prior years. We aren't anticipating right now. Poile needs to think ahead not behind. (I'm still optimistic he'll sign another forward soon or trade for one.)

sorry but thats a total BS cliche out of every management seminar ever given. You do both things simultaneously. You plan for the future by learning the lessons of the past, just like in business you analyze past data to try to forecast trends. Poile is doing that.

HAHAHA!!

Are you also going to tell us how you have a chance to let us in on the ground floor of a very profitable business option?
