I'm very happy with this pickup. They both can battle it out this year and see who will remain number 1.

Good signing for Homer. Goalie options were very limited this year. Glad he didn't get tied down to anyone over multiple years and can re-evaluate the goalie position at the end of the season.

Other fans seem to think we were in deep doo doo because of buying bryz out. We signed VL and they kept saying.....NO GOALIE???? DON'T HAVE BACK UP!!! Well I think we have 2 good ones for very very cheap. They will battle for the number one role and its great. We have one in the minors that will be ready maybe 2-3 years, so lets see who will be number one till that time comes...Mason or Emery. =) Let the games begin!

Hilarious considering that Snider followed him to the draft floor.

That said, I think this might be a little bit of it. He's keeping a watch on him but may not be interfering as much.

"We're going to be patient with our prospects."???????

That would never be uttered from Snider without a knife to his throat.

Number 29? I hope there's no significance behind that other than to subtly remind Pittsburgh about MAF.

Emery really became a much more mature player after he was exiled to Russia a few years back. I didn't know that he and Mason knew each other, but that's a good thing to hear. I think Emery remembers how well we treated him even after he was injured and no longer under contract here while he rehabbed from his hip injury.

Lol at that idiot on the main boards who said he heard Emery was getting 5 years from us.

Anyway glad to have Rayzor back on a cheap 1 year deal.

Blackhawks fan coming in peace.

Really like this move for you guys. The guy was a stud for the Hawks last year. Hawks were great on D, but he did bail them out in some games.

Not convinced Emery is a 1a starter (yet) but at $1.65 million/1 year the move is a no brainer.

I'm pretty happy with this off season thus far. Excitement is in full throttle, and I'm pretty content with our goalie tandem. More so that we didn't over commit.

its great that we didn't pay a lot for our goalie tandem but i hope we don't play the way we played as a team last year because i don't think either one of them can keep up the pace that mason had to to win those 4 games he won at the end of the year. it was a complete free for all on him. he faced a pretty heavy onslaught every game which is why everyone thought he was so amazing. we need to find a way to clamp down and play intense at both ends. guy was facing like 40 shots a game

Well the reason he faced an onslaught was because he had basically an AHL defense in front of him and the forwards were taking more chances with a goalie back there that could actually bail them out.

If you at the shot totals between him & Bryz during that final stretch it's pretty obvious they were sheltering Bryz.

I'm not really sold on either as a starter but at least they come cheap.
