Great signing. I believe he'll bounce back and be quite serviceable. When Komisarek was healthy, he did have a few stretches of excellent hockey. Wilson's system really ruined his confidence unfortunately. Good player, great teammate. Very happy for him.

I think this could turn into a really good signing.

Good signing. Many Leafs fans harping on how bad he was, but it was more that he was bad for his cap hit, and for the first two and a bit years. He was rarely played after that, but definitely showed promise this year in the little that he played, but didn't get a chance to stay up after that. Great character guy too, a no brainer at $700K. Glad that he's getting a chance to continue his NHL career after the demotion to the AHL.

If I never have to listen to another Komi for [insert Islander prospects here] ever again it will be too soon. Sooooooo glad he is no longer around.

Another ex-Leaf goes to Carolina.

This is a zero risk, moderate reward signing. I have no problem with it. I think Komisarek can still be a bottom-pairing NHL defenseman. He fits what Carolina needed. They've been soft for a long time (outside of really only Harrison) and Komisarek brings grit and toughness, another right-handed shot, and leadership which never hurts. Should get PK time on the second unit I'd assume. For that price, it's a fine signing. It doesn't hurt Carolina if he doesn't play well. At worst he sits in the press box and he walks next summer. The NTC/NMC is a non-factor for this type of contract. Just gives the player stability. It has no chance of hurting the team.

Good signing.

A 700K Pylon. LOL!

Seriously though, it's a good signing for you Caniacs he's a pretty soild 3rd pairing stay at home DFD. Just don't let him make first passes or skate with the puck for too long. You'll definitely want a PMD with him on his pairing or he really will be the most expensive Pylon in the league.

I agree he is a great guy and very articulate to listen to in his interviews. He's pretty funny too. When he was mocking Tomas Plekanec it was the greatest .gif ever. Love that he did that.

Canes will love his sense of humour and he's a character guy.

He could've played bottom pair for us but carlyle fell in love with Holzer kostko and Fraser.

Great guy, zero risk, good signing. Here's to him having a bounce back year.

Complete pro. Hope he does well in CAR. Virtually no risk signing.

A classy guy and a real asset to any locker room. Absolutely worth the price.

Just don't try him as anything higher than a 6-7 D slot; his mistakes are glaring and he has next to no upside.

Canes defense went from a bad joke to something said inappropriate.

Pitkanen / Gleason
Faulk / Sekera
Harrison / Komi
Murphy
