Quote:
ashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed forward Eric Nystrom to a four-year, $10 million contract. He will make $2 million in both 2013-14 and 2014-15 and $3 million in 2015-16 and 2016-17.

Career best is 21 points in NHL and he is over 30.

Another one bites the dust!
Poile is really tearing it up and spending money so smart.

I mean. Let us be honest. This is a terrible deal. I would much rather resurrect Vladimir Orszagh.

I've been pretty much happy with the signings thus far and have kept my faith in Poile, but I draw the line here. This deal is positively cringe-worthy.

I would have guess Nystrom was a 2 year $1.2M player max. With the cap going down and lesser players getting squeezed, this is nuts. This is like Washington's Joel Ward contract. Really nuts IMO.

These players are all ecstatic to be in Nashville because they all got grossly over-paid. Something doesn't add up.

I guarantee one of Hendricks, Cullen, or Nystrom lands an injury that costs them most of the year. It'll happen. Because **** us, that's why.

I actually like the players we got as well. I'm just totally blown away by the term and dollars given out to get them.

Meh, this wouldn't bother me as much if Poile already addressed our actual need.
Should be interesting with the new Dallas rivalry tho.

Why do people complain about money on here? It's not my money. We already know Poile went after Briere and Seguin. Nystrom will get us tough to play against. I like it.

You always over pay for free agents.

He's better than Yip

I like how our tougher players can also play hockey.

This is the only contract Poile gave out when I think he was literally on crack. To be honest I think he should be trotted out in front of the Bridgestone and fans should be able to shoot pucks at him for this deal. Yes, I'm drunk but yes Poile is still a ****ing idiot for this deal. Like can anyone possibly understand why this happened. Nystrom is decent bottom sixer, but 4 years? 3 million his last two year. LOL. Paul Gausatd? Let's go ahead and pay him 3 mill a year too because **** it that's why. Give the grinders all dese money. WHooooooooo. All the other deals I don't mind to be honest. But this one? **** me Poile. **** me

Nystrom is a good 3rd line player who can put up 15 goals brings very good d and great guy in the locker room from what i read.. love the signing if it was for 1.8 even.. he is 400k over paid at best imo.. still not the worse signing of the day..

1.85 was Hendricks. This scrub nystrom is getting 2 million first two years, then 3 million last two years of four hear deal. Keep in mind nystrom has been on waivers twice in last year or so. Just garbage.

And nystrom isn't putting up fifteen goals, he's done it a total of once his entire career.
