Lee and Brown make the All Star team. Utley is the second best 2nd baseman in the NL this year but he had no shot because Phillips won the voting, Carpenter clearly deserves to go, and Scutaro plays for Bochy. But Bochy did a good job though.

Also Howard to the dl and Ruf up.

Utley would've played if he hadn't gotten injured. Phillips shouldn't have been voted in, though. Harper doesn't deserve it either. He's been injured half the season and his numbers are subpar. I hate fan voting. So many guys are left off because of the stupid popularity contest. The fact that Brown was 16th in fan votes is a joke. The best guys should make it, period.

Brown hits his 23rd homer of the season and the Phils are up 5-1.

Phillies looking good against good teams is kind of a nice thing (well, if they win this 4-2 in 6 games against much better teams).

What are good twitter accounts to follow for baseball rumors, more specifically Phillies rumors?

2 out of 3 is nice an all but phillies need to start mixing in some sweeps if they want really make a decent run. That an shore up bullpen and defense.

I'd be pretty happy with a 7-3 record heading into the all star break. They won the series against the Braves, they need to take 3 out of 4 from the Nationals. Obviously they aren't going to be getting rid of the real problems so I hope they can do it. I don't want to lose Utley for some garbage C prospect or Ruben to mess up a second Lee trade. Might as well root for the best to happen.

I'm not laughing at the fact you watch the games, I'm laughing at the fact that you took his statement literally.

It's usually on in the background for me while I'm doing something on the computer. Unless it's the playoffs or a really important game towards the end of the season, I find it hard to pay attention for the entire game, especially if it's a pitcher with a slow pace on the mound.

I watch it on TV too, but I have FiOS...

Seriously though I watch a lot of baseball and it can get boring but for the most part I love it. It really is an awesome sport, second only to hockey in my eyes.

The games are boring because the crowds are horrible.

I've gotten really sick of some of the people I sit near in my season ticket package. We have some terrible fans.

Yea it's a strange shift because that's one of the reasons Lee signed here, and it was like as soon as he did that electricity began to leave the ballpark. I don't know what happened because the casual fans had been going for some time at that point. I guess they've just completely overran it?

Howard has a meniscus tear. Out 6-8 weeks. Not a surprise there.

I feel like Howard has been hurt all year. It really amazes me that the two cornerstones of our ridiculous lineup from 06-09 have just been beaten down with injuries. Their careers took such a sharp turn at what 29-30? Howard literally fell off a cliff, and Chase just well...you all know. It's like they were running backs or something.

We have such ****** luck.

Give Utley credit though, hitting .840 OPS is impressive. Only Matt Carpenter has a better OPS @ 2nd in the NL.

I'm not trying to take anything away from him, he's having his best year since 2011 when his injury problems first began. Utley is a HOF talent in my mind, and is playing like he should be playing at his age for a player of his caliber. But he also lost like 3 seasons of his career by being hurt/battling through injuries, in what should have been the tail end of his prime.
