After Eller got hurt in the playoff,Neil was on the ice screaming at habs bench ''What the ****** you re gonna do about it''.I dont like fighting in hockey,i m against it but at one point we have to do something. Our best players are getting hit more often because opponents know nobody on our team can realy hurt them back.I disagree with you, sadly it does work that way.

In any case, a guy like Parros will have zero effect on the odds of the Habs winning a Cup again, which is all MB should really be caring about. No one will be scared to play physically against the team because a goon is on the bench. Doesn't work that way.

O'Byrne has like 2 fights since he left the Habs, he's not a fighter at all, pretty sure Prust would drop him.

How is that relevant to him being a free agent . I never said or thought he was a good fighter that was the other guy... Clarkson isn't a very good fighter either...

Parros has beaten both McClaren and Orr. Mark Fraser might not be able to fight. He apparently filed for arbitration, too. O'Bryne sucks and is a FA. Clarkson is on par with Prust.

Wait, are there still 'anti-fighting' fans on this board? Are there really?

Prust beat McLaren last season and Parros can take Orr.

Clarkson isn't being paid $5 million+ to throw down and if he does, he's simply a middleweight. White could probably give him a decent go, or Moen can just grapple him.

Well yeah, we lost in 5 games to one of the worst teams I've ever seen in the play-offs.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the move when it happened, because I thought the Habs should have gotten a younger guy that can play more icetime, but now that I had some time to think about it, I'm warming up to Parros.

He still had 1,36 hits per game last season which is pretty good for a slow guy and very important for an enforcer IMO.

His off year was only last season.

He still played alot of games.

He's very popular in hockey rooms (according to many), fill Armstrong role in that.

He won a cup.

He still can win his fights against heavyweights.

With that said I'm still not a fan of his age, but I think it was important for management to get a a heavyweight, so at least they got one with a nice pedigree.

I don't think the habs came into the playoffs in their peak form (and couldn't find that extra gear either), but lets take a step back for a second and remember that the biggest reason the habs didn't extend that series or move on, was because Craig Anderson put on a clinic.

Sure, the habs can improve in certain areas. I use the term "ruggedness" alot, but one thing this team always needs in its current state is Price out-dueling the opposing goalie during the playoffs. If that doesn't happen, you're behind the 8-ball already no matter how much ruggedness is added to this current squad.

O'byrne is a UFA

Clarkson is a middleweight, at 5+ mil I doubt they want him fighting guys like Parros.

Plus theHabs also have guys like Tinordi White and Moen who can be a lot more feisty with Parros as back up.

I'm not naming names but a lot of irrelevant crap has been posted on this thread. Fortunately, it was in cyberspace and not on paper, so no trees had to be chopped down. There's only one pertinent point: Was the trade of Lefebvre + a 7th for Parros favorable to the Habs? I do. If anyone thinks it wasn't, please state your reasons and refrain from mentioning Briere, O'Byrne, Desharnais, Gionta, etc.

Thank you. IMHO it depends on whether Parros can skate and check well enough to take a regular shift. This fantasy that he'll sit in the press box, then sit on the bench, then finally go out to beat up Lucic or McLaren, is ridiculous.
