Don't think Geoffrion plays again. Collberg is back in Sweden for last year of contract then you'll have him in Hamilton. Agreed on vet D.

Hah, very astute point. I guess I just don't think like that. I just take it day by day year by year and I don't give up on prospects or whatever I let the play decide. And if they fail, they failed. But guys like Leblanc or whoever who have tough years I just hope they improve next year and try to see the positives. Then when there are no more positives, I let it go.

Like Juraj Mikus or something, or Jozef Balej, hah, these guys who I was pumped on. Weber, Carle, etc. I like to be pumped about them and enjoy the potential storylines and then let it play out and readjust as it goes. But I know everybody enjoys things differently, I just love being an optimistic fan because I have a lot of fun cheering for this team, so much drama and potential always swirling. Anyway, I think I puff puffed again when I should have passed, getting way too philosophical.

Love that Hamilton has added St.Pierre and Tarnasky at center, possibly Stefan Fournier as well on a ATO I think. Things are looking up for the Habs and the Bulldogs this year.

I honestly don't hope for Andrighetto that he refuses to play for Geneva because he wants to play 3rd-line-minutes in the AHL...

If Andrighetto wants to remain highly visible to the Canadiens and available for a possible call-up to the NHL team during the season, then Hamilton might appeal to him. It will probably depend on how his conversations with Bergevin go.

Andrighetto has stated that his " A plan" is to play for Hamilton in the AHL this year.

It does look slightly better then last year, assuming that the goaltending duo ends up Tokarski/Mayer again and not something worse. I would like to see a vet on D added as it will be a very young D core again, much younger then last year at this point. I assume that Geoffrion didn't get his QO, but perhaps he should take the year off.

He should sign with the Habs and go to Hamilton, whatever role he has there will come from how well he adjusts and progress.

I have a feeling that the Bulldogs will be a treat to watch once again this season. If Tokarski is the 1st goalie ahead of Mayer, otherwise there is no sense buying a season pass for AHL games IMO.

No problem at all. My avatar on Twitter is in respect for my dad who passed away. I am about to change it though as it's been awhile. Just need a pretty picture of myself...which is FAR from easy to have...

Happy to see both St-Pierre and Fournier get contracts.

St-Pierre has been one of the good AHLers in the past few years, and well Fournier was a gimme. Habs can't spit on 6'3 powerforwards that are willing to do the dirty job. The fact that he's a local boy makes it even better.

I don't think Macaulay is fast enough to be an effective player in the AHL, and he won't be a scorer in the Pro ranks. But you have to love his work ethic and dedication when he plays. Would love to see him accept a two-way ECHL/AHL contract. Same with Duffy.

- Chris VandeVelde. Used to watch him a lot in North Dakota...Was sure the kid was a future very good player. UFA now....can he be worth a shot despite his rather ordinairy numbers...
- From Edmonton, from Peckham, to Plante, to Teubert, they might be worth a shot as well for Hamilton.
- Nolan Yonkman, big D vet from Florida.
- Chris Muller: Out of Nashville, if we want more offense at C.
- Other goalie I didn't name yet....Jeff Frazee?
- Blake Kessel...is he still available for our D? Would be a neat addition.
- Jim Vandermeer, another vet d-man that could be really physical.

Tons of great options for the Dogs still available.

All this time to look for players.....

MacAulay just signed with the Dogs. No Habs contract, just a Dogs contract. Makes sense.

Personally I'd use these lines.

Bournival - St. Pierre - Leblanc
Blunden - Holland - Thomas
Quailer - Nattinen - Andrighetto
MacAuley - Tarnasky - Fournier

2 things here.....Do we keep Andrighetto with us or let him play 1 year in Switzerland because of the contracts issues. And...I would go against the family and put Steve Quailer....with Wheeling.

'Cause where do put Dumont? Unless you predict he's #13-#14 with the Habs but I wouldn't do it. If there's an extra, it should be White. Not expecting White to progress that much, but would like Dumont to get more confortable offensively wise.

Also...as you know...I would add ANOTHER vet forward but they won't do it.

Problem with Dumont is that he'll be waiver eligible IIRC. Low depth team could take a long look at him and I don't think the fans would be happy if one of our only local boy got claimed, even if he's a bottom 6er

Dumont would have to go through waivers if he is sent down, I doubt they will risk losing him for nothing. I assume he will stay in the NHL as a 13-14th forward.

I agree with you for Quailer, I think they will still give him another shot in the AHL to begin the season, but I expect him to end up in Wheeling at some point next year.

My gut feeling tells me that Lefebvre's line-up will be:

Bournival - St-Pierre (2nd PP) - Fournier
Holland (2nd PP) - McAuley (1st PP) - Blunden (1st PP)
Andrigettho - Tarnasky - Thomas (2nd PP)
Quailer (1st PP) - Naatinen - Leblanc

Clearly, Lefebvre will re-assess that Leblanc will be a 4th liner at the nhl level, so he must play in a 4th line at the AHL level.

To another season of terrible offense

True guys. Forgot about the waivers for Dumont. No way they take the chance.
