No disrespect to Alex, great player sure, but to gut half your lineup to obtain in a trade? Ill pass. It will be worse than the Lindros trade. We have a nice lineup, no need to gut it for a defenseman.

Why is George McPhee still employed? His team has gotten worse while he sits around doing nothing, right before entering a more competitive division.

If they wanted to trade the guy because they wanted to improve the team fine. I just think its weak and unnecessary to rip the guy the way they did. just wish the guy luck and move on.
This happens a lot when players leave Boston sports team. The Red Sox are really good at it.

I think everyone knows the Seguin likes to party, especially if you live in Boston, you've probably heard the stories and all. But there were other reasons for him to go outside of the off the ice issues. He didn't fit their system, they needed the cap space and they got a great player in return. They should've just left it as that.

Rangers are in cap hell because they were too cheap/stupid to buy out Brad Richards.

I would think they match whatever offer for McD unless somebody WAY overpays. I would say anything between 5.0-6.5 they match

They also have to consider the strong possibility that they may lose Staal in two years to UFA. Losing both McDonaugh and Staal in three off seasons would set them back quite a bit.

Some may get on Homer for some of the things he does, but I would rather have a GM that has the stones to make moves than one like McPhee who just does nothing. I feel bad for Caps fans.

Seriously. They had a really talented team. Instead of building on it they've slowly bled talent and depth away.

The Filip Forsberg/Erat trade made me cringe, and I hate the Caps.

As long as McPhee & Feaster are still employed its nonsense to call Homer the worst GM in the league.

Tyler Seguin's twitter got "hacked" again.

"Only steers and q***** in Texas, and I'm not a cow."

The dude should just delete his twitter at this point.

Patrick Burke is a good follow at this point, and I think he's dead on. Likely a drunk, idiotic friend of Seguin who grabbed his phone. Still an easy fix from Tyler. Find new friends who aren't homophobic that destroy his image?

Well we all had our friends put something on social media when we left our phones out in the open unattended. Unlike us though Seguin has 100,000+ people following him. The mature thing to do at this point is save yourself from the embarrassment and delete the thing.

Not I. It's fairly easy to lock your phones up or shut your computer off. I know it happens a lot, but it's also avoidable.

Oh yeah it's very avoidable I was just saying we all have friends like that but the difference is we don't have a platform like Seguin does to the public. His friends are pretty dumb if they can't see that but Seguin is also dumb for leaving phone open like that and letting it happen multiple times. I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas just makes him delete his twitter to avoid all this bs in the future.

He's not helping his image out much with stuff like this on top of all the other stuff that has been coming out about him lately.

Yup I agree. Honestly, regardless of best friend or acquaintance, if someone did that to my twitter/FB and I'm a well-known public figure, celebrity, or athlete...especially if I'm currently in the news about my off-ice issues and attitude, I'm knocking that friend the **** out on the spot.

That means nothing because we didn't actually trade Carlson to them and the point still remains.

This tweet got much more attention than the previous one, unfortunately for Seguin.

maybe but he can draft.

Green, fehr, carlson, semin, orlov, varlarmov

The varlarmov trade was great, but then he ruined it with erat.

Mcphee is the anti homer, very patient and builds through the draft.

I've been under the impression that his drafting is pretty terrible outside the first two rounds? That's probably why the Caps are a 1.5/2 line team with an overabundance of 3rd line/fringe top 6 players and a persistent lack of center depth.

Also, when was the last time the Caps signed a big FA? I can't think of any...there has to be someone I'm forgetting. Building through FA is the wrong way to do it, yes...but practically ignoring FA isn't the right way either.

Tyler Seguin ‏@tylerseguin92 47m
After repeated attempts by "hackers" to try to damage my reputation I have decided to shut down my twitter account for a while.

Taking LoD's advice.

The HF consensus thinks the Islanders are a lock for the playoffs.

Seriously. The lockout season was such an illusion for some teams.
