Top Players by jersey number

SI.com's Brian Cazeneuve did a ranking of the top players of all time for each jersey number here

Among the Habs on the list:
10 Guy Lafleur
33 Patrick Roy
73 Michael Ryder
76 Radek Bonk
84 Guillaume Latendresse
86 Jonathan Ferland

Ferland is apparently the only player ever to have worn 86, like Lats with 84.

No love for Doug Harvey, Toe Blake, Howie Morenz, Dickie Moore, Bob Gainey, Serge Savard and Ken Dryden?

And lots of others...

Yeah I copied Harvey's name, but must have deleted it by accident. Oh well.

edit: I did say "Among". People can read for themselves.

Andrei Kovalenko was the best player to wear 51?
I'd take Cube over him anyday

Sure if you go for all players that once played with the Habs.

I consider Chelios more of a Hawks or Wings player. Juneau would be a Caps (or a Bruins) player, Schneider either a Wings or Kings, etc. Y'have to take in account with which team they played the most.

Mauriche Richard > Gordie Howe

And the 44...

Richer > Proner (IMHO) Ok 97-98 to 01-02 Richer was horrible, but 86-87 to 96-97 = 666 games 345 goals - 310 assists - 655 points. And all those year with a good playoffs performance...

Anyway its may be because I'm dumb... But I think overall in terms of players and accomplisment Richer is over Pronger.

May be because you're younger. Chelios have played 7 seasons with the habs and was drafted by them and he won with the habs 1 Stanley Cup...

He's more an Habs then a Hawks... may be not for Detroit.

Girly NOOOOOOOOOO, are you kidding. Mr. Howe was a mans man, a proud Saskatoon prairie farmer kid with hands like granite, could beat people into submission, score any type of goal. Ever hear of the Gordie Howe hat trick?
If the Rocket would have played another 5 years to tack onto his scoring and cup count it would be very interesting the choice then.
He was a natural athlete, he could of played pro ball if he wanted too.

The Rocket was great but lets not bash Mr. Hockey just to make the Rocket greater

Its not even close...

Richard > Howe

10000x times, we clearly see you don't know anything about Richard stories.

you just answered your question!!
I am a big Richard fan and big Howe fan, why you may ask. I have been a Hab fan for 30 years and grew up in Saskatoon home of Gordie Howe.
So I would rank them 1 and 1A

I clearly remember Chelios playing with the Habs. My age is not an issue here. But Chelios played 9 (good) years in Chicago and had a big impact there, so I guess it is the main reason why I see him more as a Hawks than a Habs.

For the Richard vs Howe thing... I liked the Rocket more, but comparing him to the second scorer of all time...
