Send a message via MSN to thadd
Hall-Hopkins-Eberle
MPS-Gagner-Yakupov
(Acquired via trade involving Hemsky)-Horcoff(Doesn't look like he's going anywhere) - Clutterbuck (Pitlick + mid rounder)
(UFA) - Peverly (trade Duck's 2nd rounder)-Brown
We got someone kicking around other than Lander

Petry-Smid
Schultz-Scudri(UFA signing from LA)
That guy we signed from Europe- Klefbom
Nick Schultz - Potter

Dubby
UFA

I'd be really happy with that. I think it would get us into the playoffs and we'd still be able to hold onto our first rounder!!

So what is MacT's way? With the new additions. Where do they fit in? Gordon is our 3C I assume but what about the defence pairings? We have a lot of guys back there.

Eventually, Hall is going to be a center. It just makes too much sense. 6'1, 210 pounds (eventually), skates like the wind, works his ass off, engages physically, always pushes the play in the right direction, heavy shot, great vision, great puck skills.

How is that not an all-star center?

____-RNH-Eberle

____-Hall-Yakupov

Paajarvi-Gordon-_____

Smyth-Lander-Brown

Smid-Petry

____-Ference

Schultz-Schultz

Dubnyk

______ (we're not really going to go with LaBarbera are we??)

The way I see it, we're two solid top-six scoring left wingers (with size); a big, snarly third-line right-winger; a solid, tough-minutes top four D (Coburn?); and a 1A goalie away from the playoffs!

the way i see it the ufa players make a difference but arent the final factor in making the playoffs..dont really matter... the ball is in the kids court now.. nobody we bring in is going to change that. were a decent coaching/development system away from making the playoffs..

Bingo.

Tough to watch Ottawa grab Bobby Ryan without really giving up anything crucial to their current roster.

Its a huge fail by this organization that Hamilton, Pitlick, etc aren't at least close to as valuable as Silverfberg and Noesen.

Second-round drafting and developing is absolutely hamstringing this team.

well i think that having renney had a lot to do with that.. lol i know everytime he talked, he went on for hours, and sounded like a physics teacher giving a lecture with a pocket protector.. i had the fire poker inching slowly towards my eardrums

i think maybe the scouts were guitly in the past of drafting players with certain skill sets, talents and potential rather then on hard work, drive and determination

Trade Hemsky for a bruising RW/C, shift Grabovski if need be, swap Taylor Hall and Big DP, and that ain't half bad!

EDIT: Additionally, I don't think PRV will sign for that high.

I'm liking this line up a lot! Maybe trade Hemsky for a less offensive but better suited 3rd line winger

Hall - Gagner - Yak
Hartnell - RNH - Eberle
MPS - Gordon - Jones
Smyth - Lander - Brown

Colburn - Schultz
Ference - Petry
Smid - Belov

Hartnell and Coburn acquired for N. Schutz, 2014 2nd, Marancin and draft pick acquired from trading Hemsky.

Our bottom six needs some serious upgrading. Hopefully Lander, Jones and Smyth can step up their game.

Not a whole lot of decent 4Cs left, gonna suck it up with Smyth and put Lander on wing for experience and other face offs. They can be switched, it's nothing definite.

Gagner disappeared.

Anyone think Paajarvi + could be on the move for Stewart from St. Louis?

Not sure, I'd hope they take a pick + other instead. I am intently curious if Magnus can improve on last year.

If we can get Stewart for MPS, I'd carry MPS on my back and run to St.Louis.

Try MPS, 1st 2014, Marincin. Or they might ask for Petry, in which case I'd still do it. Both are improvements on their counterpart.

Dubnyk
LaBaraBara

Cap space (assuming Gagner signs for 4.5, Lander's near 1 million buried in the minors) - 5.3 million (!)

Just added Samwise into the plans. That's... That's a winning lineup, if I say so myself. The defence is unspectacular but solid, the goaltending's decent, Chris Stewart adds size, Colin Greening adds jam, the fourth line doesn't feature Ryan Smyth...

Heck, if we traded Hemsky for Zack Smith, slot him in at Colin Greening's spot and you're still doing pretty darn well.

I think if Stewart/Oshie/Perron or whatever is being targeted from St. Louis, they'd probably ask for Paajarvi as a part of the package. For the most part he seems like the type of player who'd do well under Hitch.

The plus on the other hand would be interesting.

Looots of wishful thinking here.

IMO couple moves like sign Penner, jagr ( if hemsky is traded ) and possibly but highly doubt it get grabovski, and our FA signings are done.

Top 6 is good just needs big body LW , which could be paajarvi, and top 4 d are solid all capable of playing 20 mins a night. Still need a #1 or 2 but that's going to be hard to get. I have faith in dubnyk to be the #1G as well. A lot of our results next season are going to come from player improvement and new coaching system.
