PLK picked up Beauvais from Nepean... Anyone know the deal? It's not showing on the website but Beauvais has tweeted about it.. We was top 4 last year with the raiders at parts of the year... Alot of grit and character in that guy... He knows what it takes to win! Good pick up by the lumber kings... Interested to see the players going to Pembroke... Will pembroke pay the player fee for some players (superstars) I'm sure there are some players where the team will pay for some players fees... Pontarelli is definitely not paying his... Since he had the chance to play in the ushl and knowing Mcinnis... He always has something up his sleeve!

If you read CP Clarke's info on post #428 and #441 he says teams can charge what ever they want up to $5000 max and for CP nothing has changed from last year. Not sure why they had to vote this pay to play in if nothing is changing for teams.

Good move for both teams. Harper wanted to move back and this opens up an OA spot for PLK.

Beauvais is a 4/5 guy, I expect it would take more than that to get Harper.

Beauvais tweeted he was part of the Kings Friday so why would the Kings have Harper at camp this weekend paired up with Gleason ?

Heard it from a Nepean player, maybe he was wrong, but that's what I heard yesterday

Harper wanted out last year to Nepean during the deadline was what I heard but the money was too high! Maybe the money has lessened since this will be his final year of jr a hockey since his commitment is for 2014! Plus PG likes to pick up players that are already JR A caliber players... Too me from watching some games this year he is more of a recruiter but he will develop players ( Weegar, Johnston (developed Johnston to see the defensive side of the puck), Williams, Watt, Herlihey, Constantine (played him in big situations in the playoffs), Neil, Luke Scott!

As a raiders fan... I'm hoping that its a Harper for Beauvais trade as much as Beauvais had the character and heart, he had mediocre hands and a decent shot... Where as Harper can be taught like Weegar and Johnston were to okay defense as a Defenseman and not just offence! Harper has probably the best hands in the league for a Defenseman... A shot and the hockey sense!

Gonu...Haines....Dalpe...there is a good first line.

Hopefully Harper is not gone...need to keep the puck out of the net. Scoring does not look like it will be an issue.

Was Dalpe at camp on weekend, heard rumours he wants out? Also, have to wait and see on Haines, very few NOJHL players have transitioned well to CCHL, smaller rinks and different style of play in North. Did anyone see him play this weekend, how did he look?

Agreed about Haines. Need to wait and see on that one.

Therrien from the Raiders is a good example.

I am very surprised PG would want that comment made public. If he did say it.

It is a fair comment. It simply clarifies the recent speculation.

Looks like Smith is gone. PLK has just signed 95 G Nate Skidmore from the Syracuse Stars of the EMJHL. Listed at 6'1", 175 lbs. Last seasons numbers were:

1092 Minutes, 6W 8L 1OTL 2SOL, 0 SO, 3.29 GAA, 923 SV%.

So PLK will be going with 2 Americans between the pipes this season.

Where did Smith go ? He was a very good puck stopper. Big skates to fill.

Smith is not guaranteed to be leaving.

Beauvais for PDF is what I heard.

Pembroke picks up 2 more Americans in trades with Nepean. D Stephan Beauvais (94) and D David Muth (94). What's the import limit...7? If you count the goalie they signed yesterday (not on roster yet), then they are seven.

Based on a conversation with a player who had been at the PLK 12/13 prospects camp in Pembroke, there was no comparison with the camp this past weekend.This weekends camp had poor organisation and teams were put together but did not have enough players. The exit meetings were also not handled very well, according to the player who attended, Malloy did most of the talking, wich left him with a sour taste.
You can say all you want about the new management, "give them a chance" or "they are just getting their feet wet" BUT the PLK's reputation was built up to a very high standard and from what I’m hearing this team is heading down mediocre street!

What's the definition of an import, outside Hockey Canada or outside ODHA ? , sorry, Hockey Eastern Ontario.

You heard this from a player who attended two "prospect" camps?

"Additionally, a new ruling was made on what determines import status for players. From now on, the following applies to Junior A hockey in Canada:

(a) No player having Canadian citizenship shall be classified as an Import;

(b) Any player who meets the definition of Import in his first season of Junior A hockey shall continue to be classified as an Import when registering to play Junior A hockey in any subsequent season;

(c) The maximum number of Imports that can register and play on a Junior A team at any given time shall be seven (7) in the 2013-14 season, and shall be six (6) beginning in the 2014-15 season. A review of that maximum number shall occur prior to the 2015-16 season."
