18 yr olds in a men's league and its gonna happen. Most 18 yr olds drafted have that problem. As they get older they mature. Good thing about Haag is that he knows what his problem is. Not like he is ignoring it.

But yea he should spend 1-2 more years easily. That being said wouldn't surprise me if the Flyers do take some small look.

Same here. He probably in reality is more like 5'10'' or 5'11''. I think the NHL always adds an inch or two just to give the illusion that players are bigger. Like Mike Richards, (especially when you see him in person) there's no way he's 5'11''. More like 5'9''.

Ok, so I'm not nuts.

Even more so now. If he's 194 on a 5'10 frame, he's gonna be a boulder.

Pretty funny quote from Ghost too. "I have a little Flyer in me...In World Juniors, I stuck a guy in the groin. My stick just floated up there."

This all but cements it in my mind. He'll most definitely be on this team. He's a defensively responsible bulldog with under rated offensive skills, what's not to like. I know it's early but IMO it's his roster spot to lose.

This is great.

Flyers need to stay calm next off-season when Kimmo most likely retires. I don't want any stupid signings that could block Ghost and Hagg who both could be in Philly in about two yrs and Morin not too long after. Just a one yr stop gap would be ideal unless something unforeseen happens and you just can't pass up on somebody.

He's taller than that. I'd say 6 foot and change.

He needs time to grow into his body. He's just too small to be in the NHL. Even he knows it. He said he'd get killed if he jumped into the NHL. I'm glad they are taking their time with him. No rush.

Love that quote from Ghost

Haven't been this excited about a trio of defense prospects in a long time. Morin, Hagg, and Gostisbehere.

Guy I recently started following was there and wrote some things up.

http://www.sportsology.info/2013-Fly...medium=twitter

Information on a few players there. I'll post just two though since the others are written very good:

Quote:
Reece Willcox - 6-4, 193 - D - Here is what I saw from him during last season.
http://www.sportsology.info/node/16292
After a few viewings last year and now in camp he looks very strong. He was great in 1-on-1 drills. It’s hard to get by him because the college game is very physical and does lend itself in creating good defenseman. He has some offense in his game but I think his real value will be as a puck moving defenseman who is strong in his own zone. Cornell has a rigid defensive system and he played a lot for a freshman.
Quote:
Petr Straka - 6-0, 195 - F - He is sturdier on his skates. I scouted him back in 2011 during the World Junior Championships. I watched him in a relegation game where he led his team to a 3-2 win over Germany. It was at a half empty Dwyer Arena crowd on the Niagra University campus. Many of the Flyers brass took in that game. He didn’t score like he did against Russia en route to posting 3 points in 6 games but he looked very good. One of the best players without getting a point. Now his shot is very fast. He can go top shelf quickly and he has a good backhand. He’s comfortable around the net and looked good playing some defense, which was his weak point. He has a real chance to make the team if he can prove he can score and not be a defensive liability.
Morin, Haag, Amorosa, and Laughton views are on there.

Also from Anthony Mingioni

Quote:
There were some things that I saw in Straka that peak interest. @bigDsmilkduds: @AnthonyMingioni do you see anybody making immediate impact?
Hope my boy Straka makes a push.

I haven't seen him play, but just going by what I read, Straka is a sick offensive talent. He seems like the guy that everybody wants on the Flyers, just a very slick handling shifty winger.

I knew kids in high school who did that in half the time. It's really not a whole lot all things considered.

It isn't in today's world. The training regiments & nutrition players use are so advanced now a days kids can pack on considerable amount of weight in a short time if they have the reasources & money to do so.

No problem. Found them recently. Pretty cool site regarding that. They seem to have a few people that get to watch the prospects so that's cool. If you have twitter follow sportsology. He was there today and I think said will be there a few more times.
