Nhl = Joke

The last 4 seasons of the NHL have been getting more and more obtuse in the referees making the games last longer or more exciting.

The call Rivet is the prime example for the NHL. The NHL is a money making joke that has the Refs “balancing” games regardless of skill, drafts, or coaching. It’s all about the money. Boston sucks and they need a win… almost magic the way the calls are going for them.

The NHL is now in the same socialist non-competitive status as the MLS.

and how justified would you think the calls would be if Chara got kicked out and Bergeron got 4 minutes? nobody would mind on this end of the board

I agree, the officiating in the NHL some nights is a joke, but to insinuate that they are cheating so the Bruins can win is the biggest joke of all. Did it look like they were cheating when they didn't call the high stick that cut york and then gave the habs a power play on a scrum where it was obvious that players on both sides were guilty of roughing. The officiating may be suspect on most nights, but make no mistake, it's consistantly terrible. The Bruins have had way more than their fair share of calls and non calls against them this season so don't act like the league is somehow out to get the Habs. You say the Bruins suck, but I have seen nothing from the habs tonight that would indicate they are somehow far superior.

The officiating as a whole has sucked this evening IMO.

It is. Maybe it's just the Rangers, but it seems like the passion, energy, excitement, and most of all, emotion, is gone.

You guys win the game and you still complain about the refs? What a classless bunch of fans. If the refs were horrible and in favor of Boston, why were boston fans throwing bottles after the game? Kovalev needs to stop *****ing and just play hockey.

agreed. They laugh at us when we complain about calls...but they quickly forget that they were also whining a whole lot throughout the entire game.

It's ok when they complain, but when we do, it's wrong

Nope, it's pretty much like this straight across the board. Sad really.

you must have not watched the game.

Just because we won doesn't take away from the fact the refs were horrible.

The thing I hate about the refereeing is they now call more penalties than before, but they kept the habbit of always evening them out; again tonight: 6 against the team who won, 7 against the losers, how convenient...

And the inconsistency is what's driving those guys mad; in the 1st, everything was OK, and then in the 2nd, flurry of penalties in what seems like a 5 minutes span... Every body forgot the rules at that precise time ? Or maybe the refs remembered that they had to make their quotas and start calling some

That Walsh did the worst job I've seen in a long time. Massenhoven looked ashamed to be on the same ice as him
