I suspect that Nygren is the closest to actually earning a job in the NHL. He has proven his worth against men in the Swedish Elite league, improving year after year.

No one else on the list really compares.

I feel like Morgan Ellis is getting severely underrated in these polls...

Same. But he's not a flashy prospect, so it's difficult for people to take notice. I also find McCarron to be way too high at number 5 for a prospect that is described as high risk by some.

Anyway, my vote goes to Thomas. Second round pick, close to the NHL, successful first full season in the AHL.

I agree on McCarron, he should be closer to #7-8 and Ellis will most likely be #15.

I didn't see LL when I voted for Dumont. After LL it should be Dumont at #9?

Depends on how you see it.

Dumont is an NHL ready guy, but he's not much more than a 4th liner. Maybe he has potential to break out and cement himself as an energy guy on the 3rd line, but we have younger prospects with higher ceilings even if they have a slightly higher risk of busting...

Dietz, Nygren, Lehkonen, Bozon, Ellis, Bennett and Andrighetto are better prospects in my eyes.

If this poll had been passed about 3 months ago i probably would have gone with Dietz. But after watching him play in the memorial cup, i felt something was missing from his game. I have no way of knowing for sure, but i get the feeling that Nygren is farther along in his development and though a few years older, i sense he has more upside too.

I'm probably swayed a lot by the Swedish Norris trophy win, but well, it is what it is.
