Panthers fans didn't like him last year, but he was quite popular in Anaheim for like, 6 years before that. So...off year or a career trending downward for good? We'll have to wait and see. But the price we paid was peanuts, his cap hit is peanuts, and he's off the books after this year. It's about as low risk a move as you can possibly make.
Is Boston supposed to be afraid of Parros? I thought it was clear that bringing in Parros was to avoid things like 2 years ago when we had no one to stand up for anyone. Thorton is still going to play his game, but other players that might not want to go up against Parros, so they play a little more honest.
This is one freakin year. We didn't give up anything and we didn't got a guy for the next 6 years. Chances are Parros are out and others, better, would be available during the season or in the off-season. Market was Parros this year. Yes, there were others, but too expensive. Nothing to panic.
At worst, he'd be everybody punching bag....but it won't be Prust. And we need a healthy hockey player in Prust as long as we can if we want to go far. THAT'S ENOUGH for me. Everything else is a plus. And we all know that Parros won,t lose against everybody. And we all know that other players in this team will like to see him on board.

This right there. And I couldn't care less about fighting and enforcers.
To those saying we are sometimes too negative about MB's moves, all I can say is: if I can see a logical purpose behind a move, I'm usually fine with it or at least, I give our GM the benefit of doubt.
I wish I could get the same treatment from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to erase the memory of Laraque. He was embarrassing to watch and now he's embarrassing to listen to. The absolute worst player I've ever seen play for the Habs, and that's saying something when you remember guys like Mark Lamb, Patrick Traverse and Gordie Dwyer. Please go away you irrelevant bum.
So does Brandon Prust strike fear in other teams? Absolutely not, BUT HE IS THERE!! The same thing with Parros, stop looking at his fight record, the #1 priorety was to find somebody that would take on heavyweights and Parros is that man for us. I don't give a crap if Panthers fans sidn't like him, their whole team was crap last year, so of course they attack their bottom 6 players 1st. Parros has a definite role here, and our division suits him way better.
