Panthers weren't in the same division as Boston, Toronto, Ottawa, and Buffalo last year.

You need a heavy in this division, and Parros can go toe to toe with the Orrs/Scott's/McLarens/Lucics/Thorntons/Kassians of the world.

Like I said in another thread: empty stadium, team going nowhere. What's the incentive of going all out fighting for that? Bell Centre will get him jacked up.

I think you're right. Only 2 seasons ago he led the league in fights ( I think) with 27 in Anaheim. Bell Centre will motivate him to get punched in the face by some other goons..

His presence alone will help.

People like to forget, but Laraques presence helped us. We were never bullied with him in the lineup. Sure he didn't fight a ton, but Boone wanted to fight him and opponents were always on their best behavior when he was here.

Can Parros do this... I hope so.

They probably didn't like him because the SW dicision isn't exactly filled with goons like the NE.

If guys like Prust White Tinordi Subban Emelin Moen play bigger because he is there he is worth 10x what we gave up.

I just can't believe we're at 25 pages for George ****in Parros.

It's a great addition. I think people are mad because they can't call that addition another midget, so they hate on it.

Why would Chara heads up against Chara.. A 30 minutes defenceman go against an 5 min enforcer?

It's just dumb to go there

I'm sure he can but Chara won't drop the gloves with him. If he had no choice he'd probably just try and wrestle him to the ground like he did to Laraque. Chara is a typical bully. When Orr was running at him he was pretty quiet against Toronto in that series.

I would guess no but at the same time it's not like Chara would ever willingly drop the gloves against a heavy.

Hey if Chara behaves badly, he won't have a choice. I expect Parros to lay him out and beat the **** out of him. Screw the instigator penalty.

You sure about that
Chara is one tough SOB, and I'm sure he can handle Parros.

Ironically, Parros will be in the same division as... Florida.

Parros is going to get the job done during the regular season for the Habs. Bergevin needs to keep looking for playoff type forwards now, we have a few but still missing a few.

Chara is a bully, if somebody anywhere close to his size stands up to him he cowers.

Laraque has no clue. Look at our division:

Toronto: Colton Orr, Frazer McLaren, Mark Fraser, David Clarkson
Ottawa: Matt Kassian, Chris Neil, Zack Smith, Jarred Cowen
Boston: Zdeno Chara, Shawn Thornton, Milan Lucic, Adam McQuaid, Gregory Campbell, Johnny Boychuk (who doesn't even fight anymore)
Montreal: George Parros, Brandon Prust, Travis Moen, Jarred Tinordi, Ryan White
Buffalo: John Scott, Marcus Foligno, Patrick Kaleta, Steve Ott
Florida: Erik Gudbranson?, ...??
Tampa Bay: BJ Crombeen, Ryan Malone... ??
Detroit: Jordin Tootoo, ...??

Who, in there, do you think scares the hell out of Parros exactly? We already saw him going toe to toe with Scott. Shawn Thornton is on his way down, and has been nowhere near as effective last season. Matt Kassian is what he is... Great sometimes, just plain sucks some other times.

Colton Orr is the toughest guy in the division. But seriously, which team exactly can we say: "Well, we're not going to be able to respond if things get ugly/out of control"? None of those teams should scare/intimidate the hell out of us. And our game is not to intimidate the other teams... never has been. I just don't get Lararque's point.

Even in the Atlantic Division...

NYR have nothing left. NYI have Carkner, Pittsburgh has Engelland, Glass... and that's pretty much all there is to see there. Columbus has Boll, Wiz and Horton... Carolina has Westgarth, Gleason and... Komisarek? Washington has Erskine. I'm not so sure about the rest. Philadelphia has Rinaldo, Simmonds, Hartnell, and after this, it's Talbot. Maxime Freaking Talbot. New Jersey has Barch and Clowe. That's pretty much it there too.

Who exactly should we be scared of if hell breaks through? It's not really a matter of scaring the hell out of everyone. It's all about being able to respond if the going gets ugly. So we don't see Emelin having to drop them anymore, or as little as possible. So we don't have to let Eller face a guy like McQuaid.

It's the power of the 'stache. It compels posting.

And Laraque can **** off. He was the epitome of worthless and frankly, who the hell did he ever intimidate? The guy had a ridiculous "honor-code" that allowed anyone to basically just say "nope" to every fight. It's been five years, bro. We broke up. Get over it.

Seriously. Laraque is bordering on the obsession stalker boyfriend category that just cannot accept he was dumped.

Parros is worth it for the mustache alone. That stache will give the opposition second thoughts about coming into the O Zone.

If he keeps the opposition honest, the trade will be worth it.

Orr loses almost as much as he wins. Scott would easily be ahead of him.

Laraque is just yapping to get some press for his future run in politics.

Both are arguably equal, Orr beated up Scott pretty bad last season.
