Anaheim is a perfect fit. Boudreau would use him well too.

Dont see why he would take much less then Weiss. Teams have shown this summer that they are willing to overlook bad years and still overpay, even if that bad year was the most recent one (Filpulla, Weiss, Clowe)

I honestly don't see Anaheim offering more than a two-year contract.

This is easily the most frustrating free agent situation...there is an OBVIOUS fit in Anaheim. He will get the minutes he wants and he brings us right back to the top of the division and now we have money to give him after the Ryan trade. Its a no brainer. Our kids (Holland, Rackell) Won't be ready for a full time 2C gig for a couple years so why not get Grabo?

I heard on the radio that he got married on July 5th. One would assume that someone who made $5M last year would be taking a lengthy and expensive honeymoon.
I wouldn't expect him to sign or even let his agent interrupt him with offers before August. There will still be suitors.

Perhaps Anaheim to be the #2C or he could play LW for Boston and take all his frustrations out on Montreal and Toronto 10 times a year

The Ducks could definitely use him as #2C, but hoping for our division's sake, they don't take him. Personally, I hope he either takes a play cut (heh) and becomes a #3C/#2LW in EDM or signs in Winnipeg as the #1/#2.

It would be a wise move money and play wise to go to WPG, imo, for both parties. He could easily outplay Joker and that puts less pressure on Scheifele and the organization.

same with Rangers with Miller who is more NHL ready but still might be in the AHL and with Lindberg as he might make the team or could need time to the AHL to get used to the smaller rinks.. i wish Rangers bought out Richards for some cap space.

Grabo has the brighter future at this point, but i think Richards has seen the writing on the wall. He knows he's getting bought out after this year no matter what so: Contract year time. I do believe BR has a little left in the tank. If there were more quality UFA's this year, then I think the Rangers would have bought him out...

New to board here but, figured I register and give my input at least from my inside knowledge of Washington Capitals. But, to keep on topic George Mcphee word should never be trusted and he rarely leaves cash sitting around. So with 8.4 in cap they have Alzner agents has asked for Carlson type cash and Johansson agents say looking for short-term deal so can maybe get better contract after he proves himself so estimated Caps will have about 3-3.5 in cap space after those 2 see Grabovski on a short team or multi-year deal that will pay him less in 1st year could make sense. So Washington in my mind still seems like a possible landing spot.

If Filppula can get 5M I don't see how Grabovski can't get 4+M in the NHL.

Only fits are weak teams, he's not a #2C on a good team, and his fans say he is misused as a #3C. So unless a crappy team wants him, he's going to have to move to wing or accept a role with a bad team. grabo is a #2C on bad teams, I said this last year, and am reiterating this again this year.
Well, Burke is a Stanley cup champion, so he probably knows what he's talking about. Its not like Burke gave a 3rd line grinder 5.25 mill for 7 years or anything.....

I still think washington is in play. Its my #1 spot for him to end up. Wpg and Ana are possibilities too.

How was the relationship between Burke and Grabovski?

With Burke back working with Anaheim for the time being, I wonder how much influence he could be.

Who gave a 3rd line Grinder that kind of Deal??? I know Toronto signed the top ranked UFA who is going to play on the 2nd line with Lupul and Kadri and get PP minutes also.

So I have no idea who you are talking about. Clarkson for Grabo is a big upgrade in T.O. not that Grabo talent is in question, just his fit.

I would like to see him sign somewhere and be productive, in a situation that makes sense for his talents, he is too good.

With Burmistrov gone from Winnipeg, I could see Grabo going there, perhaps?

If someone is willing to trade for Horcoff, someone would be willing to give 4M to Grabo.

So the speculated landing spots seem to be ANA, WNP, CAL, lesser extent WAS. CAR maybe an outsider? Would love to see him either in a bruins/wings uniform for purposes of vengeance (unrealistic scenarios). No KHL. Apparently TBL were interested until they landed Fillpula. Media has been pretty quiet on rumors about his next contract.

Sedin Sedin Kassian
Burrows Grabovski Kesler
Higgins Schroeder Hansen
Booth Richardson Weise

It would be very tight... but they could probably just barely almost not fit under the cap...

Vancouver cannot afford him and has no reason to sign him, really. Their 1-2 centre slots are spoken for. Grabovski isn't going to sign himself into the same situation he just got frustrated enough with to rip into the coach about.

I would actually love the signing for Vancouver if they made Kesler's line into an elite shut-down line and had a scoring 3rd line given super cushy minutes. In that scenario Grabovski makes sense. But this is Tortorella we're talking about. That's not his style.

Why doesn't Nashvile give him a call? Top 6 forward, defensively responsible, can put up decent points. Sounds like a Nashville-esque player to me.

With the departure of Burmistrov, I would absolutely love to see him in Winnipeg as their second line center.
