Did anyone in the "media" ask Poile why the Preds didn't put in a claim for Grabvosky? If so, what was his answer?

I dont think anyone asked but im sure the answer is that his current contract was unacceptable.. and the fact that all 29 other gms passed on it is pretty good empiric evidence that he is correct.

Could you imagine if the NHL or Preds Front Office sent letters to the Cellblock like MLS just did? http://deadspin.com/mls-threatens-fa...ium=socialflow
also:
http://www.ksl.com/?sid=25841275&nid...id=rss-extlink

Sure they use the common reference for anus after exclaiming to inhale voluminously; but with a vocal minority people taking exception to 'sucks' chants, you wonder if there would ever be a point where they would be highly encouraged to stop?

I wish they'd tell the cellblock to change the chant to just repeating the goalies name. Alot more mature. Of course, that's also a group that won't join in when other sections start chants.

I've sat in the Cell Block one time. I said the word "damn" and was asked by someone to please watch my mouth because someone a few rows down had his two year old son with him.

Now, I've been known to let a few choice words fly in the heat of the moment, but I've also been embarrassed by those times and have learned from it. I try to make sure I know my surroundings when at a game, and I will pick my words based on who is around me. "Damn", in my opinion, is the least vulgar "curse word" one can say.

But then again I guess I think being offended by a word is pretty silly in and of itself. That's another debate for another place, though.

He didn't say much - just that he was "meh" on the FA signings when we needed a bigger name. When asked how we were supposed to get bigger names here, like with Briere and Vinny, when they decline - he argued that Nashville still has a stigma of a bleh hockey town, even though that's unfair. When then asked if it was better to not overpay than sell the farm for FAs, he didn't really have an answer. He was pretty respectful and didn't come off as rude, while still defending his article, but you could tell he didn't really have much substance for how he perceived our team's shortcomings and after he left the call, the panel kinda debated/disagreed with a lot of stuff he said. Wasn't a waste of an interview by any means, but it all basically sounded like a guy who didn't personally like the FA moves we made, couldn't overly explain why, and couldn't offer many other solutions given the situation we were in.

Was reading up on Filip Forsberg which made me interested in finding out more about Peter Forsberg's tenure in Nashville.

I realize that after the Preds were eliminated, Forsberg went on a hiatus.

How did he play in Nashville? Did he seem to embrace the city? Do you think, had he not gone back to Sweden, he would have re-signed with the Preds?

To add, he said that a few years ago, the perception was that the Preds were a legit contender, and thus it was easy to attract players. He thinks that with Suter leaving and Weber attempting to(in his opinion), the franchises's rep took a hit, and nothing can really straighten it out aside from developing and retaining a new crop of talent. Thinks its going to be a lean couple of years.

One thing of note: Coverage of prospect camp has been a bit disappointing... I recall during the Thrasher years, The Blueland Blog and Bird Watcher Anonymous were live blogging developments from Camp. Outside of some random Josh Cooper tweets, there has been no coverage

To be honest. You'll get better opinions here than from the local media. SLake always does a good job.

So, can Weber retire and come back next year on a new team? Or would he be tied to Nashville?

It would be either the KHL or bust for him
