Abby Wambach broke Mia Hamm's goal record with a hat trick in tonight's friendly vs South Korea

Over 18,000 American fans were at the game last night at Red Bull Arena.... I had to work last night but I was told that the crowd was more vocal than your normal soccer mom crowd....

What's great about watching Tahiti play is that it's essentially an amateur team. You can see how how a bunch of average joes would fare against the world's best. It highlight just how good the likes of Spain & Uruguay really are.

Yeah lol.

They have taxi cab drivers, coconut squashes, teachers, doctors, etc.

Of course Torres would miss the PK though. lol. Just when you thought he wouldn't pull a Torres.

On another note, Italy is going to get destroyed by Spain.

It will take a miracle.

ITA vs ESP is one of the most pathetic displays of football I've ever seen. I'm off to bed, both teams can suck it.

Also, watching the Confed Cup, I really don't like Neymar. I think he's a little ****.

Aside from Brazilian 8-14 year olds, so does everyone else.

Italy and Spain play the two most boring brands of footy in their own rights. Park the bus and pick off counters, pass it back and forth around the midfield a million times and push when the opponent gets hypnotized, respectively.

The better a team is, the more possession they have, generally speaking. Spain's just better than everyone else right now. They play the 4-6-0 and clog the midfield.

In five years, it'll be Germany winning everything.

Spain was the more possessive team vs. Italy, but a lot of those were constant short passes that led to zero scoring opportunities or even rushes up. Besides Torres a couple of times, they had literally no chance of scoring on Buffon on regulation. It opened up a bit in OT though when both teams were gassed and Xavi hit the cross bar. Italy was the much better overall team in regulation due to a dominant first half, just bad luck prevented them from winning. I suspect things might've been different with Balotelli being suited up, for the better or for worse. Prandelli should've utilized these tactics in the Euro finals, completely outcoached last year in the final game.

In 5 years time, Germany will still fail to beat Italy as usual. But I agree, their dominance in Champion's League play this past year speaks for itself.

BTW Juvenetus got Tevez, have dominant midfield, I think they can challenge Barca this season.

Spain are playing with such arrogance they pass for the sake of passing many times it seems. Disregard this year's confederations cup. I believe Japan will make lots of noise next year and make the semi-final.

Everyone is saying this is a prelude to next year's WC final. How can you even make that statement when nobody knows the draw yet?

Spain haven't even qualified yet! its within the realm of possibility that France (1 pt behind) catches spain and spain loses in the UEFA 2nd place playoff matches.

This sums of Spain's evening. Xavi's reaction before Ramos even took the penalty.

If the world cup took place this past month the USA would have a good chance of making the semi-finals with the way they're playing. I don't know if they could emulate this form next year though.

No they wouldn't.

They're not going further than the final 16, if they even get out of the group stages
