Remaining FA's

Some notable remaining FA's. I wouldn't mind either signing a winger and trying harder to move Stastny for D help or signing a dman. Every year our team's defence gets injured and it clearly does not have the depth to deal with the problem.

Fwds
Prospal
Antropov
Boyes
Brunner
Cleary
Grabovski
Raymond
Morrow
Gagne
Latendresse
Mueller
Penner
LaRose
Wellwood
D'Agostini
Lombardi
Ponikarovsky
Sullivan

Dmen:
Gilbert
Lydman
Zidlicky
Murray
Hainsey
Whitney
I White
Eaton
Poti

Bunch of average players and i'm confident Sakic and company are smart enough not to pick up any of them and over pay them.

I wouldn't mind having Mueller back. I think he'd do well filling in the top 9 when injuries hit.

Would Dan Cleary be willing to play 4th line?

Trading McGinn + for a defenseman is the only way I see us signing a winger, but I do think the Avs could benefit by adding a true RW in place of losing McGinn at LW.

Although I'm one of his biggest non-fans from before the trade, Stewart (@< 4.5m) still interests me reunited with Stastny. So does Mueller (@< 2.5m) and Brunner (@< 3.25m)

Lando-Stastny- Stewart/Mueller/Brunner

There has to be a good reason why he hasn't been qualified by his last two franchises.

Too slow and no defense.

I'd guess it's because he's too unreliable in the top 6.

I think there's 0% chance we sign him. I just know that injuries are going to hit. When they do, Mueller would be an excellent sub off the bench.

with his concussion problems , i'm not warm on Mueller either , but we have to give him credit for something , he used to have good chemistry with Duchene .

I think Sgarbossa is our top forward to call up and we have a few others we can call on as well so I don't want to see the team go out looking for more forwards from the UFA list honestly.

Defense as we all know is our problem but I don't see the answer in free agency this year. Now if Pietrangelo could be had that'd be one thing but we're not getting him so perhaps another trade sits out there that could be made but barring that I don't want to see the team throw money at guys who aren't going to solve our problem.

We may be in for another rough season defensively but I think management knows that and we'll see how they address it through the season and into next off season. I don't think the answer is in our system for this or next year, but we do have some nice pieces coming up if we can just find that additional top line guy to go with them...
