Sort of like Orr did against the Habs last year. He hit Bouque in the nose, attacked Gionta and so forth.

People may think i'm crazy but in that pure goon style? I would have prefered Trevor Gillies.
You are hard to please son.

You'd really want Laraque to just go after Gilbert Brule?

He LET Mara take him.

Chara never fights top heavyweights, the only exception was Laraque and he wanted no part of him, immediately going for a wrestling "take down".
I define "best fighter" by never losing a fight in the heavyweight division. Is Chara the best technically? Probably not. He is capable of and he has fought the top heavyweights in this league and he's one of the rare players to stand toe to toe with Laraque, amongst others.

Well Laraque the media ***** has to put in his two cents.

BGL needs to stop talking, usually he just embarrasses himself just like becoming the head of a Canadian Junior Hockey league Union

Right, he "let" him. He seemed to "let" a lot of other players fight for him too.

Pretty funny he was only paid to enforce when it was convenient to him.

By the way, Mara was 6'4 220lbs. To think it was more "fair" to have him pound Brule is silly.

So, BGL stopped sending faxes and now he`s chirping continuously like old lady. That whining is endless, isnt it? Pathetic.

If Laraque grabs Brule and starts beating him down the linesman will jump in right away. Knowing that you'll have to fight BGL for at least a few seconds would deter some people from doing that same kind of ****.

Chara never went "toe to toe" with Laraque, he tried to wrestle him to the ice from the outset. Was fighting not to get pounded instaed of trying to win, a "no mas" moment...twice!

This is from HockeyFights.com. It looks like an even fight when you watch it. When you look at "who won the fight" based on votes, Orr wins 58.7% vs 9.1%.

This is all we need from Parros. Stand up to Orr and not let him dictate the game with his successful bullying of the Habs last season.
The only reason Orr won that one is his jersey came off. That's a huge advantage because the other guy can't gab you and you can grab him for leverage. That's why Robert Ray used to have a loose jersey with no tie down, it would be like trying to grab a greased pig.

C. Nilan on TSN stated that fighting is going to be a thing of the past. Claims it's being phased out in Junior, because the NHL is too chicken s*** to do it themselves.

It's pretty clear fighting won't be in the game in 30-40 years, but that's a long ways away.

It will take something pretty drastic to eliminate it. They may put in rules to severely limit it though.

I think we'll see significant steps taken within 10-15.

Mandatory visors and a penalty for removing your helmet before a fight are the first of many rule changes that are going to remove fighting.

TBH I'd just like to see them crack down on designated fighters more than anything. Love watching a fight between two guys who are actually relevant to the game going on. Hate staged fights.

Keep the passion, ditch the sideshow.

When the staged fight is just hugging it's terrible.

When there's serious blows landed and the fight gets everyone going, then it has it's purpose.

Laraque really is being ridiculous as always. What a thoroughly embarrassing person... Look George, you were a farce here. I'd bet 200$ Parros is going to do better than you. He could suck balls, yet be better than you, so shut up.

quite a contrast from the last guy that wore #15

I agree with nilan that the end of fighting in the nhl is just a matter of time. I just dont know how quick or how long it will take, but it will happen.

And the MMA will be laughing all the way to the bank. I could be wrong, but I suspect less people will be interested in watching hockey.

Fighting is in hockey to stay. WAY too much of a popular thing in the US. It would be a mistake to take it out anyway. The day fighting is out, you'll see cheapshots like there's no tomorrow.

That makes no sense. If you watch hockey for fighting, then you're not watching hockey. What do you do during the playoffs?
