That seems damn cheap for Perron. Great deal for the Oilers.

you know, we played really well with Turris as our #1 C....... (we got into the playoffs and even won a round)

If the team decided to trade Spezza, what do you think the return would be?

Hall - Hopkins - Eberle
Perron - Gagner - Yakupov

Hemsky on the move? Can't see him playing in a 3rd line role.

Alzner signed for 2.8M, fair comparable for Cowen.

4 years, 2.8mil for Alzner.

Cant see Cowen getting more than 2.5mil a year.

Fair deal between the Oilers and the Blues

I think that long term it will benefit St Louis more however: they can retain who they want to keep, get a bust and a 2nd round pick and get rid of a diving one dimensional player

Perron doesn't strike me as a particularly good fit in Edmonton: they don't need more scoring though it certainly doesn't hurt

A hell of a deal for the Caps on Alzner, hopefully it helps us get Cowen at around 2-2.5 million (I think Alzner is considerably more proven)

Just for fun, what would be our comparable in the Perron deal? Greening + 2nd?

I don't think I would do that deal.

Probably comparable value there

Agreed that I wouldn't do it

We don't need small scoring forwards who dive on the Ottawa Senators

Let the Scabs (and Edmonton apparently, that top 6 isn't very big) go after those players

I think we are pretty much, aside from locking up RFAs, done until training camp. The only possible curveball would be if Smith gets moved to Edmonton between now and then.

If he demanded 3.5 would you let him walk (assuming he had somewhere to walk to).?

I would not let him walk. It would set our defense back quite a bit. We already lost gonchar, we do not need to lose cowen.

Spezza only has two years left on his contract, only real dumb gm's would offer two elite prospects and 1st for that..
