schedual

anyone find this schedual of playing teams in your confrence like 8 times and then

teams from the other confrence once kind of stupid. I know it is meant to play

rivals more often, but i think it is overboard myself. Some big name players that I

have seen maybe a couple times in the last few years, its just annoying.

I want to see more MTL vs Canucks games etc. I also think it'd be better if it was only 6 games per division team, this way it free's up 8 more games that you can play against other teams.

That's 1 more game VS Calgary/Edmonton/Vancouver per team in our division. That's also 1 more game MTL can play San Jose, Dallas(kill Ribeiro ), Minnesota and other good teams in the west.

It also could let us play a few games against lesser competitive teams like Phoenix.

Phoenix = Free win.

Know what though, with Boston in our division this season, I think MTL can get 8 free wins. Huet is 8/9 vs BOS.

The way things currently work is that you have a one non-conference division away trip, and an non-conference division homestand. I'd just like to see that change to two away trips, two homestands, while rotating the divisions. This might be exactly what oop007 was proposing above, but that would mean 10 fewer conference games (divide however you like). Also, you'll get to see each non-conference team at home two years in three (four games total per 3 years).

Removing conference games actually wouldn't be hard, you'd just remove two inter-division from each team, and then rotate through the conference removing two games from a random non-division team, so you'd only play 2 games one season in ten, instead of 4.

As for free wins, the Western conference is (and has been for quite a while) far more competitive than the Eastern conference. I hardly think that Phoenix's free win would compensate for hard games against San Jose, Anaheim, and Dallas (all in Phoenix's division).

..as for the schedule, I think it's dumb not playing 5 teams. This is not baseball where we have an american and national league. The rules are all the same, each team should play everyone at least once.

Huet is 5/6 vs Boston, Theodore won the other 3 games.

They also play 152 games, or something stupid like that, and play 3 games in a row. Travel's a lot easier when you spend 2-4 days in each city.

id like to see east central and west divisions in both conferences. nhl are too worried about travel expenses i suppose to do it that way or have equal balanced scheduling.
