Seems like the oilers had a blast in NY

http://www.nypost.com/gossip/44635.htm

Quote:
January 9, 2004 -- THE Edmonton Oilers might still be hurting from their epic night of drinking Tuesday night. Former Rangers Adam Oates and Mike York and Oilers teammates Ryan Smyth, Ales Hemsky, Radek Dvorak, Raffi Torres, Jason Smith, Ethan Moreau plus several others ran up a $22,000 tab at Bruno's on East 58th Street, washing their steak, lobster, veal and pasta down with oceans of expensive wine and cognac. After leaving a $6,000 tip, some of the gang were spotted doing push-ups on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. Then they brought Bruno's staffers to Suede, where the group partied 'til 4 a.m. and emptied 10 bottles of vodka and champagne, as well as several rounds of shots with a gaggle of female admirers.
Seems like the oil had a good time 22K on food and booze!

Nice, very nice. Maybe they should save it for the All-Star break, Lord knows they won't have a hockey game to prepare for.

Was this the team's rookie dinner or just a fun night out?

I LIKE IT!

Now that's OLDTIMEHOCKEY!

All the great HOFers use to do it!
That's when hockey was fun. One thing hockey players have on other athletes is there ability to get wasted! No need for the cocaine like NBA and NFL...Wait was Fleury there?

Former Ranger Adam Oates????

huh???

Either way, a good night out..

I used to live right near there.. But I never went in to Bruno's and I'm pretty sure I puked on the sidewalk there instead of pushups..

If I had disposable income like these fellas, I'd do the exact same thing.

Hockey, booze, and chicks...is there anything else worthwhile?

I don't see why anyone would want them to get extra laps or anything, they didn't play Wednesday or anything, basically a full 2 days recovery time, for their game against the Isles...it obviously didn't effect Torres, Dvorak or York.

Heck Yah!
Lobster = Boston
Veal = Dallas/Chicago
Cognac = Montreal
Vodka = Russia (and the old Whalers...North American Smirnoff is made in Stamford, Connecticut!)

okay, they don't make Cognac IN montreal...nor do they make the lobsters IN Boston

All great hockey places!
