Bingo. Initial perceptions ultimately clouds judgement: the media has a lot to do with it. Remember folks, he will never truly be elite unless he plays the "white way." Darren Pang might be sorry for saying a slip that he didn't mean, but subconsciously he was thinking that, and so are several others without realizing it. His off ice enthusiasm, something that transfers over to his on ice play, isn't done the robotic way, the NHL way, the Canadian way, the "white way."

And until he becomes Jonathan Toews off ice, he'll never have the respect he so deserves, even if he is the more relatable and down to earth human being.

Subban greatest improvement in defense happened during his first season in NHL.
Under JM, he did improve his defense tremendously.

In the last year, he has improve his game by being more efficient.
A lot of times he did skates from end to end just to make shifts easier for the team.

On the offense, the biggest change this year is that he has stopped to rely on his shot and added more tools to his arsenal.
Given a pace of 74 points, Markov probably added 10-15 points.
But you can say the same about Karlsson with Spezza and Alfredsson or about Letang with Crosby and Malkin.

All in all, I prefer Subban to Letang and Karlsson.
As far as I can see, PK is better defensively and is very near to Karlsson's and Letang's offense.

I can see his offense and defense improving over the next two years.
For now, we can all agree that he was best on +/- in both regular season and PO in our team.
Neither Karlsson, Letang nor Suter can claim this.
Given that PPP does not count on +/-, PK performance looks even better.

I think Hal Gill deserves some credit too, too bad Preds have him on lock - perfect #6/7 leadership/mentor type for Beaulieu/Tinordi.

Not only got chills, but got choked up as well. I really need to stop being so emotional over hockey.

The "This or That" video that followed had me laughing. Kobe or Lebron?
"Kobe... come on..."

At this point, who cares? He's something we haven't had in a really long time. Lock him up, don't care what he ask for.

Not saying you did I just wanted to point out that it doesn't matter what money he gets.

We've had truly awful management. Heck, half the fans on HF wanted to trade that bum PK for daring to challenge penny-pincher Bergevin.

I truly wish we had some capable, proactive owners and managers - it would be so refreshing.

Nice clip!

Furthermore, Subban was born in 1989.

PK's first words, pronouced a few days after his birth, were: "That trophy is mine and no Habs shall touch it before ME!"

That's how great he is.

Man if subban kills it again, and dominates for team Canada...

How much money can he get?

To think we could have locked him up for 5 million....

Nice to see a Canadien, who's not a goaltender, win a major award for the first time in 20+ years.

I don't think Habs wait I think they sign him this offseason to an extension or early in season.. I still don't get where all this five mil comes from, I know McKenzie posted it but rumor was he was looking for Doughty money when he left last season.
