Bieber calls himself a hockey fan... he should know about traditions and what it means to NOT stand on the logo of a team in the lockerroom.

They could also reach the next generation of Hawks fans through other avenues besides Bieber, but I digress...

And even CM Punk weighed in on Bieber stepping on the logo on his Twitter feed:

"Everybody worth a damn knows you do not step on the Indian head."

Memo to the Hawks brass: Want to reach the next generation of Blackhawks fans? Don't rely on the Beliebers. Go with the man that has the guts(with cause, IMO)to gloss himself Best in the World.

tmz has posted the video: http://www.tmz.com/2013/07/10/justin...-bill-clinton/

also, the hawks now claim they immediately told beiber to get off the logo: http://www.tmz.com/2013/07/10/justin...picture-photo/

My hockey coach growing up fined us $100 if we stepped on the logo.

Straddling the Hawks logo was the move that sent me over the edge.

You should have seen what Anthony Bourdain wrote about Bieber on Twitter after he pulled that stunt. He was so POed it probably would have melted the ice in any arena. Some of what he wrote would probably get me banned from here-so feel free to look it up!

If we're relying on freaking Beliebers to be the next generation of fans, I'm not sure I want to live on this planet anymore.

Yeah I'd rather go back to a half empty arena instead of seeing it full of Bieber fans. Seeing that comment from the media director is a disgrace.

I know some of this is fun faux outrage, but it's nuts that some people take this silly superstition so seriously and seem to believe this was a PR debacle.

I'm sure the marketing department is really bummed that team is still being talked about by the national media like they really are a important team and not a niche-sport champion.

It's not a PR debacle, in fact I would go so far as to say that it's a huge win for the Hawks marketing team. At some point it does become a little hard to stomach, but I'll move on. Most will actually. Some won't, but I don't really care either way.

I will say that the players probably do care.

Half empty arena also means what was once standing room is now the price you could pay for higher seats in the 1st level, those were fun times.

I don't see the big deal with Bieber standing on the Indian Head, tbqh. He's just some dense and very rich kid that obviously didn't know it was a big deal. The suits there with him should've specifically said, "Hey..... don't step on that, it means something."

Hell, this is the egomaniac that thought writing that Anne Frank would've been a Belieber in a Holocaust museum's guest book was a good idea. Clearly, unless something's specifically spelled out for him, he doesn't know any better.

Though I do agree that the media director was more than a tad off base with what he said.

I have no hate for Bieber here...just for the f***in' suits who just stood there and let him stand on the Indianhead...Bieber probably didn't even know about that rule.

Yeah, the players care as they carry the cup to bars for people they don't know to take pictures with the cup in all types of drunken ways (many that didn't watch the hawks before this year and would have stomped all over the emblem if in the same situation.) Would the team care if say Sharps's nephew walked on the emblem when he visited the team in March? Oh the silliness.

So none of them care at all. Sounds plausible.
