Tony Marinaro interviews George Laraque

They cover everything from Lucic to Parros. Any ill feelings i've had towards Laraque re: faxes, etc., have been erased. The man is honest (brutally so), factual and articulate. Best hockey-talk radio I've heard in months. http://www2.tsn.ca/window/podcastcen...id=20488&id=17

I'd rather hear an interview with the alley cat outside the studio as it would have a higher IQ than the two of them combined.

I wish I was still living at home so I would have the choice to not vote for him at the next federal elections.

Funny that he calls Parros a "wrestler", if you saw his fights, he doesn't "wrestle".

Whether or not Parros is an intimidating enforcer or not doesn't mean anything. It's not like there's many top dog intimidating enforcers that can also actually play the game.

Personally, I think he can stand with any of them.

It's all besides the point, he is here so it doesn't have to be Prust or Moen doing it against the heavyweights, especially Prust.

I'm afraid that even if he passed away that someone would use a Ouija board to ask his senseless opinion about something.

It's July. There's little to no hockey news. Plus hockey is entertainment. Hell even Nilan is milking his yesteryears on TSN. As far as I'm concerned (and advertising dollars support this), if the show evokes an emotion, and brings in listeners, it's a job well done. Tony understands this - very well.

I was impressed with the hardball questions and honest answers. So refreshing from the scripted pablum you always hear.

Well, you're wrong. And hockey players will tell you that. The idea that someone on the other team has the potential to not just fight, but break your face, makes you think twice before taking liberties. But yes, with Parros, we have an ageing punching bag, so at least Prust won't have to endure the crap he did last season.

One point that BGL seemed to miss in this, and it was obvious when he played here, is that being a great ENFORCER is not about necessarily winning all your fights. Nobody puts Thornton in the top 10 fighters of the last 10 years, he is a grappler/wrestler of the first degree, but because he defends his teammates, he was an excellent enforcer.

If in game 5 of the season Lucic takes a run at Subban and Parros goes after him in 4-1 game and takes an extra 2 or 4 but sends a clear message "you don't mess with my guys" do you think MT and MB will be pissed? I think not. White got in trouble for what his did to Ott because he got sucked in by an agitator, if Ott had kneed Desharnais or Pacioretty and White jumped him NOBODY would have complained, not the fans, not MT or MB.

Parros has done quite well against some of the toughest guys in the league.

He dropped John Scott at some point, he ended Colton Orr's season as well a few years ago.

Either way he'll provide at least the same amount of intimidation that Laraque provided for Montreal, which was absolutely none.

In fact, I wrote a little something about it if anyone wants to take a look:

I usually do not get involve in any Georges Laraque' talk as he is a personal friend but c'mon guys, whatever you think of Georges the player, Georges receives calls/emails/texts msg from Mtl media every week asking for his opinion. Why don't you blame the Mtl media for giving Georges all that attention still?
