Just for anyone interested. I'm actually kind of glad he never signed.

I think those large salaries are what they got paid for last season. They are both getting about 1.2mil this season.

Kind of glad You should be ecstatic.

That said the Flames should have picked up another play making center somewhere, especially with guys like Ribs and Arnason available for cheap.

Roenick would be about the last person I would want (of the big names) on my team.

He is much to self centered and way too slow.

Roenick is one of the few players on the Yotes who actually plays with heart and soul . Most games he has been on of the beter players..Now thats not saying much considering how everyone has been playing . But if there is a bright spot , (besides Lisin or Yandle ) Roenick has definately been playing as good as his contract.

I was actually hoping for Petr Sykora, to be honest.

He has been one of the better yotes thus far. He is actually skating well, now that his skates are sharpened correctly. All kidding aside, he has played well for the yotes but his linemates can't always say the same thing ,which contributes to his +/_ rating.

I guess none of you have actually seen Roenick play this year. He's one of the few Coyotes who brings consistant effort and hustle, game in, and game out. He started on the third line and had a great attitude about it. He played physical, was great defensively, finished his checks, and created the odd offensive opportunity. When Reinprecht went down, and with Comrie not playing as well as he should be, Roenick was promoted to the first line with Freddy Sjostrom and Shane Doan. He is not slow, and he is one of the only guys who looks and sounds pissed off about getting embarassed every night. Oh, and there is the complete lack of stupid penalties on his part, while playing for by far the most penalized team in the league. Actually, his play has been a great example for everyone else on the team. It's just too bad that no one wants to follow him. He looks like a leader out there, to me. All in all, he does not look like a bad signing for 1 year at 1.2 million dollars.

Sykora would've been horrible in Calgary... worse than he was when with the Ducks IMO.

I bet a guy like Arnott would've done really well on the Flames. I'm glad he went to NSH right away.

That is great to hear. I was one of the very few, that was hoping for him to sign with Toronto, after he had mentioned he would like to play for a Canadian team.

He was killer against Toronto, so better to keep your enemies nice and close. He would have king here in Toronto, and would have taken out rivarlies to the next level.

On the other hand, if Ottawa had gotten him, oh man that would have been trouble.

Great pick up

In case you missed it the first time around in this thread, Coyotes are actually happy with Roenick.

i wish JR had come to the Flames... if anything else JR bring an unparrelled energy to the game... and the way i see it JR >> Lundmark... especially now that Yelle is hurt... I imagine that Friesen wouldnt have been signed if JR had... but it would have been great if both had signed... a 3rd line of Friesen - Roenick - Amonte could potentially be a very solid line

i dont worry about the crap coming out of Roenicks mouth because he speaks his heart and mind... I have alot of respect who says what they believe and doesnt just give everyone what they want to hear... and as long as he gives everyting on the ice i dont care what comes out of his mouth
