Exactly my stance. Zero blame goes to JB, no way he knew. All those standing around smiling are to blame.

Wow, I'm ashamed that he's a fellow countryman, and I agree with what many stated, if he knew anything about hockey it would be that rule.

Secondly, I just read about it on another website and wanted to come in here to get your reaction, all I can say is, I knew exactly this was the Bieber thread without his name even being in the title.

Man I'd never thought I'd feel sorry for Blackhawks fans, but here we are...

Is this part of that campaign to attract females to the Blackhawks that I was reading about a month ago?

**** this guy. My apologies from Canada for breeding this tard.

Justin Beiber is a disgrace to sports and stepping on the logo should allow for andrew shaw/seabrook to line him up and flatten the kid. Anyone who argues what a great fan he is of sports, his girlfriend must be a number one fan then

Reminder!

Fans of any team can visit Hawks boards and discuss topics. Don't troll/flame or try to bait them into argument by bashing their team/posts just because of who they cheer for

I'd agree with you , but with some of the folks in high end positions in this league....I wouldn't bet money on it.

Someone fire this fool. If the Chicago market is that desperate for hockey fans that they need to tap boy band followers, they might as well just fold and move (and no I don't believe the Chicago market is that desperate for up and coming fans...far from it.).

ie Bieber is permitted to stand or dance on Hawks logo.
I dont think that bieber fans should be the target audience. Like at all.

And touching the cup doesn't bug me. Him getting a jersey slightly more. Hi. Hanging it in Toews spot makes me a sorta upset. HIM STEPPING ON THE HAWKS LOGO INFURIATES ME.

I don't like his music and I think he's a wiener. But tons of people touch the cup and get jerseys. I don't care.

But he did play hockey at a pretty decent level and is probably better than half the people on this form, so he shoulda known better than to stand on the crest. But nobody present said anything for whatever reason. They have in the past. Maybe he was excited to see the cup and didn't realize it, I dunno.

No it wouldn't. Just because you don't share the same feeling about the logo doesn't make it stupid. Some of the outrage is stupid, yeah. The tradition itself isn't though.

That same tradition existed when the Hawks were voted the worst sports franchise in the US for I think five years straight not long ago. So no, I give the tradition zero value. I give that to the players, coaches and mgmt. I'm really shocked by this nonsense.

So traditions and lack of success are mutually exclusive? Good to know.

No, I clearly implied they have no impact either way. Every team in the league has the same type of tradition; only some teams have better players and coaches and mgmt that lead to more wins.

I was actually surprised with all the people on the tube and on the web that were derping about the tradition with the line, "If you don't want people to step on your logo, don't put it on the floor."

.... is it that hard of a concept for people to get? The act of having something both visible and mildly inconvenient is the entire point. You're consciously reminded what it means each time you avoid it.

Heck, my fraternity had the same tradition. Don't step on the delta walking into the house. I'm sure plenty of other teams and organizations have similar traditions, too.
