Honestly man it seems like you have no idea what you are talking about. And maybe watch a Canadiens game for the smallest team in the league. Also he wasn't comparing Crosby and Perron offensively

Anyways this trade does absolutely nothing for me and I still don't understand it. I was expecting so much more this offseason from MacT, I guess that was my first mistake. They should've traded Eberle for some higher end depth or a top 3, top 2 Dman...
There was no indication in my post at all about Perron compared to crosby except for thier size relation.

Oiler fans are so used to sitting and watch nothing change, just to be content with the "potential" of the team, its time for potential to be traded and used to get player like Perron (top six players). We are a better team today that we were before the trade. If the oilers can get a bigger 3rd line winger one day that eventually makes a bickell like transition to the 2nd line then great, but thats a crap shoot.

For the record bickell wasnt exactly a world beater during the reg. season, he was on pace for 39 points, yes he had an awesome playoffs, but so did fernando pisani and many others in years previous.

The oilers line up for the top 6 isn't bad and for all the size junkies out there

6'1" 195lbs - 6'1" 185lbs - 5'11 185lbs

6' 205lbs - 5'11" 199lbs - 5'11 185lbs

6'2" 192lbs - 6' 200lbs - 6' 184lbs

6'1" 201 - 6' 194lbs - 6'2" 236lbs or 5'11" 205lbs

Hall-RNH-Ebs
Perron-Gagner-Yak
Smyth-Gordon-Hemsky
Jones-Lander-Eager or brown

We can assume Hemsky will be traded and maybe smyth will play 4th line, the possibility that Jesse Joensuu could make the team too at 6'4" 209lbs.

The oilers could be alot smaller, and the team roughly avg out to be 6' 200lbs (waits for the its not the size but how a player plays comments...)

I have a feeling Hall is probably closer to 205 lbs

In the morning after the night before you should wake up and claim you have no recollection of ever making these posts. I think I did similar once or twice...

Wtf is mact thinking???? This trade did not address the needs of the team at all. The oilers are the most unbalanced (4 top 6 RW) ( 1 top 6 LW) (0 big centres) (no scoring on lower lines bar RW) (No physical monsters on the active rosters while other teams have at least 5 players over 209lbs) (tiny top 6), prospect developmental black hole and most amateurish run team in the league. If there was relgation in this league the oilers would have been relegated a long time ago and would probably be playing 2 divisions below the nhl.

Congrats to the management. You better do something fast to fix your awful mess.

That makes no difference overall. That is still pretty much the average weight of an nhl player.

Top ten in points this year, one is a generational freak in ovechkin and the other big man is eric staal, other than those 2 the other 80% are either equal or smaller than the oilers current top 6. Size is nice to have, but rare to find and many teams dont have it. It comes down to how much effort the players put in, and no I'm not comparing out top size to the best players in the game, but our very own taylor hall sits in at #9 on this list, and not 1 person would complain if you make a top 6 out of the list below and excluded ovi and staal, you wouldnt call then small because they would put up huge points

#1- 5'8" 180lbs 60pts

#2- 6' 190lbs 57pts

#3- 6'3" 230 56pts

#4- 5'11" 200lbs 56pts

#5- 5'11" 181lbs 55pts

#6- 6'4" 205 53pts

#7- 6' 193lbs 52pts

#8- 6' 205lbs 52pts

#9- 6'1" 195lbs 50pts

#10- 5'11" 198lbs 49pts

And Oilers will continuously get criticized for every move the team makes because Slats is no longer the GM. This has been happening since the day Slats left. I have memories and every move the Oilers have made since then has been criticized.

I'm way too lazy to look it up but I'm curious as to what height/weight their main linemates are. I'm thinking not very big since every team seems to want to get bigger

I don't know about that. I think having 4 finishes in the bottom 6 has caused people to question management more than ever. The fact remains that Kevin Lowe whom is the one constant is still here.

MacT might turn things around, he might not. I think people have a right to be critical.

nobody is overly large, I dont know each teams line up, but crosby for example played with kunitz(6' 1930 and dupuis ( 6'1" 205) although crosby is the best player in the world too

Height doesn't matter as much as a willingness to go to the front of the net, which Perron does

If you think everyone else is crazy(or drinking something) for thinking Perron is a legit 2nd LW then I have bad news for you. Most "hockey" fans regardless of the fanbase think he is. Even HFBlues fans do, and its an unwritten rule to bash the hell out of any player traded from your team on here

Yeah, this is undeniably one of the few trades where its so crystal clear we won going away. Plus that we're getting a guy thats already good, and heading into prime.
