I want no part of Nik Antropov. Watched him float around way too much as a leaf (my dad is a fan)
Id wager to bet he plays less then 25 games with the Oilers. He'll be traded to help put the team over the top within the next 2 years.

Eager, Brown

Then hopefully we can trade Hemsky for a third line LWer (or grow some balls and sign Penner)
I guess I am just not as big a fan of Antropov. I guess he wouldn't hurt, but I'm still much higher on the Penner idea. Shame MacT won't even consider him.

I wouldn't mind that.
I can understand that, I love tough guys though. I love havin' chuckers on the bench. I could handle a Joensuu/Eager/Brown rotation too.

Not if MacT is still at the helm. He has a major broner for the kid. I wouldn't put it past MacT to get rid of guys like Musil/Gernat/Marincin before dealing Nurse.

In all honestly beggars cant be choosers right now, Our bottom 6 sucks so much anyone is an upgrade on this lineup. If Antropov is willing to come here then by all means sign him. I would rather have a floater like Antro and Penner than see Smyth/Jones in a permanent top 9 role.

How I would like see the bottom 6 next year.

BLANK-Gordon-BLANK
Joensuu-BLANK-Jones
Brown
Smyth

Lander developing his offensive game in the AHL.

But at this point that is extremely unlikely.

It really seems to me like the Oilers are expecting Lander to take the 4C job this season.

What about Arcobello as the 4C??

Jebus.

Except Maricin Gernat Musil aren't going to be enough to get us a true number 1 dman. If Nurse is looking like he's progressing I wouldn't be surprised if hes dealt for a legit #1 to help put this team over the top going into the 2014-15 season or even the 2015-16. If we keep him I hope he takes HUGE strides in the next few years because he has a long way to go before he's even top 4 let alone top pairing.

Nurse isn't going to get you a #1 Dman any more than those other guys are.

Im sure he has more value then the other guys listed to some GM's out there. Obviously it wouldnt be by himself unless he completely takes over the OHL next year.

As long as Datsyuk wants Abdelkader on his line, done deal. And that's the way it is. Babcock took a lot of heat when he first did it and by mid season it started paying off. It's not going to change anytime soon. Babcock has actually talked about it at length.

I could live with that lineup. I'm sure some people would take issue with the fourth line, but that line could wreck people.
That fourth line would be a penalty machine.

I'll go Sobotka, Kopecky and Kulemin, although I think the Leafs really need Kulemin. He's really underrated in a lot of ways there. I like Zach Smith too. Just think for the price he'd cost, which might be higher than people think, Sobotka would be a better target.

What about Hemsky (we eat half his salary) to Phnx for Antoine Vermette? Very good defensively, great on faceoff, can play as 3rd line shut down c, can score 40-50 pts if played with skilled wingers and serve as a good backup to play on 2nd line if one of the top 2 centers pick up an injury.

Phnx signed Ribeiro as UFA and has Hanzal to fill up the top 2 lines center position. They certainly need skill on the wing and should be happy to move a 3rd line center making $3.85M?

The Henrique/Hall chemistry I consider to be along the lines of the so-called chemistry between Pouliot/Crosby, or even Hall/Bailey. The chemistry was there because one player is good no matter who he plays with.
Yah once again I'll say this. Many rookies have a great rookie season and then never duplicate their totals or live up to the hype. Usually these players are the ones who weren't expected to have fantastic rookie seasons but do.

I do agree though that Crosby and Hall both carried their line mates. Kovy and Parise carried Henrique but it wore off. Henrique wasn't even that good in the AHL this year based on what I saw

For the record I'm not a Henrique hater. Actually I'm a fan but I realize his limitations.

There is no one piece the Oilers would offer that would make the Blues consider moving Sobotka. Top-5 bottom-six player in the league.

No way the Oilers get Kopecky either. As much as I want him on this team.

He's a very good 3rd line player whose stats were inflated due to 1st/2nd line role on a bad FLA team. His value is thus overinflated and the overpay it would take to acquire him would never be worth the numbers and game he brings in a 3rd line role in EDM. Esp. with Gordon as his C.

By how much would you overpay for Boyle?

It certainly solidifies the center position.

Brown is a moustache with fists, the guy is a tough son of a *****. Crap on his offensive and defensive abilities, but fisticuffs are what he excels at.

As for Eager, he had a rough go ever since Tulupov concussed him, but from all accounts he has been a soldier for OKC and I'm definitely willing to give him another shot. If he got his mojo back, I could see him dropping the gloves more often. He's a pest, and a chippy guy who can take care of himself when things get rough.
