Prospal - Gordon - Hemsky

Not bad...
Lander wouldn't play C over him.

Another plus is that Prospal is fairly conscious defensively if I'm not mistaken, so Gordon will not be overwhelmed. Very balanced 3rd line, count me in on the Prospal train.
Defense is actually his weakest facet, but I think Gordon could make up for his defensive woes, giving us a net equal line.

Yeah absolutely not for Gordon+Hemsky on the 3rd line. The defensively sound offensively challenged Gordon with the one dimensional offensive Hemsky is a disaster in the making. We either make that line a pure shut down 3rd line or get someone else to center the 3rd line. I prefer to get rid of the floater who's last one on the ice and first one off during practice myself.

I stand corrected, for some reason I thought I remembered him on the PK.

Anyways, that's still a true scoring 3rd line.

I don't think we can afford Grabo and Gagner, and I don't think Grabo wants to be a 3C anywhere judging by his parting comments for the Leafs.

agreed, not a chance of that ever happening.... gagner for grigs straight up might actually be closer than you think though, although i think we'd have to add something still

In an ideal world we trade Hemsky, but with little options, I can't see us trading Hemsky and filling his spot easily. Hemsky likely stays imo.

All day, don't know if NY does though.

Sounds good to me. It would rustle a lot of jimmies, just the thought of it seems to have already.

You don't like heavies, I get it. You need to understand that other people do.

Why would I need to understand that? I don't care what people think; I care about my team winning and facepunchers don't do anything for that so... \_(ツ)_/

Well I'm not the GM, so getting your jimmies rustled at me serves no purpose. If you didn't care what I think you wouldn't have commented in the first place.

I have no idea what that means. Is it MMA lingo?

What can I say: I'm curious about people who place aesthetic considerations over winning.

Heavyweights don't win games but you either have one or, don't have one but ice a team that can hold their own.

We should get some Vinny Prospal. We have Howson, there seems to be respect there, he's a great goal scorer, and he provides top 6 depth in case of injury (he can play all three forward positions too!).

Prospal-Gordon-Hemsky? That's a pretty darn decent third line. Move out Hemsky for some fourth line grinding help, promote Jones or something, and you're still terrible.

Heck, move Prospal to centre...

People keep saying this.... but the BlackHawks just won the cup with an almost pure skill team. I don't think Carcillo got much ice time in the post season.

Its an 82 game season beforehand. And although they don't get a lot of playing time, there's still a lot of respect for those guys.

Heck, one of the first guys to raise the cup this year was Jamal Mayers.

If we can't get Gagner signed before arbitration I hope we trade him for a top pairing D, then use a combination of our first and Hemsky to acquire a 2nd line C. Signing Grabovski to a 1-2 year deal would only be a last resort move.

Kings just extended Muzzin. They're now have 8 D under contract with Martinez still unsigned. Plus they have Clifford, Nolan and Lewis to resign with only $4.2M in cap space. Clifford should eat half that alone. That's a team that needs to make moves and they have pieces we could use.
