Samsonov isn't going anywhere yet, and even if he does, he's worth a couple draft picks to teams that are desperate for offense (PHX, LA, etc). Kostitsyn can be recalled in the unlikely event Samsonov is traded as well, so it's not a bad deal for the Habs whether he stays or goes. Personally, I'd like to see him stay.

Would be sad although not surprising... hope I can contribute to it not happening in my section. A goal or nice play with the 3rd line should stop it cold.

Good I hope he gets traded cause he sucks..I understand why Edmonton just let him go without making any effort to sign him

He's better than anyone we have, except Markov, what are you talking about? He has size, can skate like the wind, is physical, can move the puck, and can chip in on offense.

Then bring up Kostitsyn...

Higgins-Koivu-Ryder
Latendresse-Bonk-Kovalev (Kovy shouldn't be doing boardwork...just shooting)
Perezhogin-Plekanec-Kostitsyn (Higs-Pleks-Perez were dynamic last year, but Julien didn't want to keep them together for some reason)
Murray-Begin-Johnson (Murray and Begin will be a nice compliment for the softy Johnson)

Markov-Komisarek (if Komi keeps playing like he is and starts to add offense, if not move Rivet here)
Souray-Boynton (dynamite pairing...Boynton's mobility helps Souray bigtime)
Bouillon-Rivet (just limit their ice time, tho Rivet has played well this season)
Streit

and get rid of Niinimaa...somehow

And even doing all that, we still have puck movement and mobility issues on defense. To me, that shows how far away we are from a Cup.

wow... just noticed that poll on rds.ca :

for the non French, the question is "in the Samsonov affair, who's responsible for the polemic?"

I'd agree that it's Samsonov's fault too.

Re-read the article i already linked ; they are saying the same thing that TSN or LaPresse .

The first report from RDS was made one day before the others . Samsonov just cooled down and talked with Carbonneau , and that's why the articles were different . But if you link to the one i gave , you will see the exact same story on RDS site .

The good reaction was to talk with the coach , to move his *** and to close his mouth . Yes he was responsable of that big story , with Carbonneau , who showed that he didn't have a lot of experiences as a coach in this story .

I'd like to see him pick it up and keep him but if that's not going to happen.......what about Sammy + Streit + pick to Nashville for Shea Weber?

People don`t seem to understand that Sergei Samsonov has never been a top player, a good second line player, that is it. He has the looks of a superstar, but simply isn`t a star.

Anyone who expected more from Sergei Samsonov than what he is doing currently (5 points in 8 games?) hasn`t seen or heard of Sergei Samsonov before this season.

He's got 7 points in 10 games, now... and I'm guessing we've just seen the end of that particular fracas.

Does anyone doubt that he will be at least the fifth highest scoring forward on the team?

I'll take a 2 goal night as a good reaction.
